Spent the day playing on trials bikes, much fun but HARD WORK and tiring. I did pretty well until.....
See the picture at the start? THATS how steep the hill is taken 2 seconds before i crashed, video cameras never do inclines justice :(
Sorry I've not uploaded in a wee while, life is much different recently. I've done a LOT of travelling and not had time to ride or record. However I'm planning on a long jaunt in Europe where im sure there will be much recording.

small tip, roll up a few dock leafs and 'break' then on the middle, so the juices flow, and rub the juice on, much more effective and much more comforteble to rub on ;)

its a neutralization process, nettles contain a strong acid, and dock leaves contain a strong alkali, when acids and alkalies mix they turn into water, not only that but, dock leaves always grow where there are nettles now thats impressive.

@TizHancock A good way to get them to stop being itchy is to never touch the area you got stung. If you don't touch it the itchyness goes away in about an hour.

The whole lack of a seat thing is a deal breaker for me :) We have nettles on the west coast of Canada but they don't seem to be as potent as the English ones. I have yet to see a dock leaf though.

Eeeeeeeeeeeek, stinging nettles!!!!! Thumbs up for pain..... Broad or curled leaved "dock" plants grow in the same habitat as nettles and so conveniently, if you ever get stung, you can usually always find a dock leave near by to rub furiously on the affected area, I have never seen any here in Spain tho.. must be a UK habitat thing... Nice to see you riding again!

Dock leaves do work! But not in the way! They need to be crushed to get the juices out and lightly dabbed on the sting! Rubbing will just make it worse! They are nearly always found with in a few meters of a nettle patch! The reason it works for some is just trying to find them takes their mind off the sting. It only lasts a few mins anyway! Glad your ok that sounded painful! Keep it shiny side up, rubber side down!

Dock leaves, reminds me of the days when i was young, i got stung alot by those nasty nettles!! Lol they sure do help with the irritation!!!

Great video Sven and great to see you posting again! its funny as I was always told use Doc Leaves to cure stinging nettles however its also widely known that if you get caught short in the woods and you need to go you can use Doc leaves to wipe up! ha ha do be careful...check the leaves first else you could be stinging and smelling a bit turd like !! ha ha, Looking forward to more videos from you Sven loved all your others, a true star of youtube!!

For 1 dot leafs don't stop the pain 2 if it has white flowers on or not it still stings you it's the leafs that sting if White flowers were there how could it sting you anyway

The best way to use doc leaves is to actually get a bunch of them, crush them up in your hands and use the liquidy juice that comes out like a balm to rub on the stung area. Ray Mears told me. Have a look here on youtube ;)

Was this in America or do you have nettles in England? Didn't know about the dock leaf. Thanks. Yes, I think POV cameras do a really poor job at showing the terrain. They always make it look flat and smooth. Perhaps it has something to do with the wide angle and helmet mount.

Not because you crash, but you show, that you aren't perfect. its a placebo, there is no scientific evidence that shows that dock leaves help against the sting of a stinging nettle :P its just an old remedy that has been passed down through history without thinking about weather it actually is having an effect. sorry :( i always used dock leaves before i found this out :/

Haha, I did exactly the same on a pushbike the other day. The GF went for a run & I followed on my pushbike. She jumped over a ditch, I didnt have enough speed to jump it, so I tried to ride down it & up the other side, but it was too steep, & I went over the bars at the bottom & faceplanted into nettles! As for dock leaves, I break the stem & squeeze the juice out... if it is placebo, it works for me ;p

My friend wants on his mountain bike the brakes that of you crash the brakes on the handle bars bend forward so you don't break your wrists. Your lucky you didn't break anything!
