@@JohnRaymondHall A france ballett. "Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Zeit" (german title") Very well known in france but not realy in the rest of the world...may be that is the answer. And by the way, there is another one: Stendhal`s "Rouge et Noir" in the POB made by Lacotte. Same problem.

@@susannevollmer2347 does that 'Rouge et Noir' have any relation with the ballet of the same name that was part of the rep of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in the 1930s - with designs be Matisse?
@susannevollmer2347
@susannevollmer2347 6 месяцев назад
@@JohnRaymondHall I dont think so -- the only relation is the novel, I bet. There is an interview with Lacotte and he didn`t give a word about the Ballet Russe version 1930.

@JohnRaymondHall
@JohnRaymondHall 6 месяцев назад
@@susannevollmer2347 i think Richard Wagner’s Rienzi Overture - i'll double check and get back. various composers were used in the complete ballet: Ludwig van Beethoven, Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, César Franck, Reynaldo Hahn, Camille Saint-Saëns, Richard Wagner

@@susannevollmer2347 i'd not heard about it either, though when i started googling it, i came up with a number of references, including a latest recording of a performance in 2007. this performance here shows it to be suited to Makarova's particular talents

What a treasure! I've never seen or heard of this. Did Petit choreograph it on Makarova and Cragun?
@JohnRaymondHall
@JohnRaymondHall 6 месяцев назад
i think it was initially choreographed on Dominique Khalfouni, Denys Ganio, Luigi Bonino and Pascale Leroy at the Ballet National de Marseille under the title 'MARCEL PROUST Remembered' :)
