I've been listening to a lot of instrumental versions of my favorite pop songs lately, and it like hearing a song I know I'll love for the first time. This song is awesome with Natasha singing, but takes on a different meaning without.
the little chromatic descent the bass does at 0:31 is my favorite part of this song, the chorus is incredible yeah but the verse right before it has such a beautiful feeling to it and is what really makes this track for me

Kind of a late answer, but the producer/co-songwriter explained why he decided to add so many layers of Natasha's random vocals here and there. It is in a VICE special. The final product shows the genius, but here in the instrumental version we only hear her "chicken"''s AWWHs LOL I just watched that special a few moments ago. I would love to hear her isolated vocals, they sound quite broken and raw (also genius for this song IMHO)...
