I absolutely agree! I won’t be purchasing this palette ..I am going to wait for a mini version. I just LOVE Andrea’s tutorials! They are so detailed and so much fun to watch ! . Andrea, you know your stuff! 😊❤️
I had my Milani Gilded Gold palette off to the side and maybe get rid of. Maybe not now. I’m 55 now and I think I like the softer shadows now. I will have to use it now and see how it is. I haven’t touched it in a long time.
I'm not really happy with it. Golds look the same on my fair skin. A few nice shades, way too much brown. I didn't have the original gold, yet I have several of the colors in other palettes. I love ND and rarely would say this just if you have most of these shades, there's nothing new except for the pretty champaign/white shade. Most colors are very pale, it reminds me of the latest product she put out. I switched out a few colors into it (as you can do that) and it's beautiful. But this palette is for people who love Nudes... they are gold takes on nudes. Seems lately she has made several monochrome palettes (the dark one has many navy shades tho not just black and white, there is more diversity in this) for people who love nudes w a touch of gold they will love it. Second look looks OMG incredible on you, beautiful.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! 🥰💗 I agree I feel like a lot of the lighter mattes end up looking similar on the skin. I could definitely see that being the case with the metallics too. I feel like the two blue/green shades in the original really did add to the color story. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on it!
As usual, Andréa, you are honest about this palette. I am a fan of ND but haven't gotten this palette yet. It just didn't appeal to me. I really appreciated you showing other palettes that might be similar. I have some of them. You also make a good point that we might be able to do similar looks with a variety of palettes we already have. The looks you created are stunning.
Same! I already have so many similar shades, but I’m loving the inspo! I started my look as I opened this video, lol I thought I was doing something really unique but Andrea and I are genius twins today lol.
All the reviews for this palette are giving me loads of inspo, I’ve been so focused on my palettes tho, kinda forgot that my very manageable mostly warm neutral singles collection is ready to go, and honestly, an eye crayon or two for my matte shading/crease&transition + a beautiful golden lid shade is an easy & gorgeous summer look. I just spent 20 mins creating a terra cotta, ochre & yellow gold look.
Its true! She is! And she is even more beautiful since shes been a mom. ❤ Love that shes reliable, informative, and honest, and she includes high end and drugstore. I rarely comment, but had to agree with you.
i’m tempted to get this palette, i haven’t gotten a ND midi palette yet because i’ve been waiting for the right palette for my undertone as well as preferences. i feel like this could be the one for me finally. ❤
The quality is really nice! They wore really well throughout the day too, even better than some of her other palettes. If you decide to buy it, I hope you love it!
I have several ND palettes, and too many overall but I would be looking at this very differently if I was not overloaded with makeup. It does seem like a great core palette for a more curated makeup collection, it certainly has the shades for every occasion, I would guess the more subtle looks from it would be crazy gorgeous. I’m always amazed at how even the brightest, sparkliest ND shade can be sheered out pretty easily. Her formula really responds to tiiiiny changes in pressure, so you should have maximum flexibility. I have a yellow gold that can be the most subtle hint of golden light on my lid but also 2 layers of it full strength give disco eyes that the 70s are jealous of lol! Wow her shimmers really are beautiful, aren’t they? Like extra extra gorgeous lol…I’m just admiring my makeup in the mirror rn
Love your honesty and thorough reviews! i will have to see this in store as I think it may be too warm for me!😢😂 I love ND products ingeneral- but am not a big shadow user and I have I need a Nude, and Zenon-❤❤❤❤❤love them and the Chanel Rivage❤❤❤❤ and afee others..so I'm set! Will see!!! Ty Andrea!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I don’t think I will end up using this as much I Need a Nude that one really blew me away! 🙌 Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video! 🥰
Thank you for the recommendations! I have Going Coconuts, Maneater After Dark and Good as Gold. I really would love to get the Precious Metals palette. If it was only sold at Ulta then I could use my points on it. I hope you and your family have a great rest of your evening!😊❤️💄
Without a second thought, an easy pass for me regarding this palette. I have UD Honey and I just purchased the Yucca palette on sale (I also used Ulta points)👍 I also have plenty of drugstore, cruelty~free palettes that have toppers in them~which seems to be a trend to include in palettes now. Thanks Andrea for your comprehensive review…I’ll watch your videos regardless of subject👱🏼♀️💞!
I love this palette but I may have to be happy with the baby gold for now until I can justify the expense haha. Now we need a mini gold! Too bad there’s no Labor Day discount on this one on the ND site. 😢 I was hoping but it’s still too new. There is a discount on the Golden collection but still not in my budget. Sadly.
Here just watching and paying attention to your opinion, because I’m not interested in buying this. I would have bought it immediately if this were the Gold OG midi 😢😫☹️ many RU-vidrs I follow talk about the beauty it is and none can buy it anymore.
It looks like that dark brown with its cooler undertone is flexible enough to cool down some of the other browns. I am too cool toned for this still though. I would maybe buy a dupe of the old gold palette. The only ND palette that has ever called to me really was the old gold palette and the metropolis one.
The best thing I ever did in my life makeup-wise was a personal color analysis test, I am a Bright Winter, soooo cool toned, and this palette is so the opposite of what looks good on me, and that saved me so much money, I only buy what I like and is in my palette and the compliments that I look more beautiful happens on daily basis.

I have the original gold palette, I haven't seen this one in person, but the original looks much warmer and more mustard in tone than this one which appears more neutral than either warm or cool. I never reach for the original gold because I dislike the blue/green shadows, so this one looks prettier to me, but not as versatile because it is rather one note, it needs to go both lighter and darker and have more of a gradient, especially for the mattes.
Yes! I feel like a lot of the mattes end up looking similar on the eyes so it would have been nice to see one or two of the shades swapped out for something different. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 💗
I don't own this palette, but just looking at it, I have to agree. For my personal preference, it would have to have both darker and lighter mattes. It's a pass for me, although I do see why people would love it.
@AndreaMatillano The Gold Palette is still as good as day one. I appreciate the midi size palettes. I love her new formula in her sparkling shadows. I sat down and did some swatch comparison and I think the new palette repeats have the exact same quality. ❌️⭕️
Thank you for the comparisons that was great! My big question is : with less expensive palettes like morphe, colorpop, and revolution, how do you know if spraying your brush will cause hard pan?!! Also what would you spray with, setting spray?
Mandy Lea described it as a great palette for people who have a very set makeup routine & want to zhuzz it up without actually looking different. I think any eyeshadow lover will likely already have a lot of similar shades and palettes. But I would love to play with it lol…maybe I’ll be doing boxycharm when it comes out there lol… I was super excited to see meh reviews of retro glam because I thought that would be we’d get it thru boxy and I was right. All ND palettes are fantastic when they cost you under $7.
Loved the second look! ❤❤ Also, Alterego has a dupe of the Gold palette. Obviously not the same formula, but if the color story is more appealing, this might do.
Andrea, it’s cah-va not cāva, because the name is a reference to sparkling wine similar to champagne. I would want someone to tell me if I was mispronouncing a word. And I bought it😂
I really love the look of this palette but I bought I need a nude and would have returned it if it hadn't been for the shimmery shades. I find the mattes so patchy and prefer Patrick tas formula!
Ooo it’s a tough choice! I was actually really surprised by the ColourPop palette! It feels like they stepped up the quality and I like how there’s more versatility because there are so many warm tones but also cool tones mixed in too!
