WHO ARE KARA AND NATE?!
New here? We are full-time travel vloggers with a goal of visiting 100 countries before 2019. We make daily travel videos. In these videos you can expect to see the best foods and adventures of every country we visit. ;)
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I don't know if you read these comments so long after the fact, but I have spent most of my afternoon and evening catching up and I am so amazed at the enjoyment I am getting from watching your travels that it bothers me that you feel you have to apologize so much when there really isn't an apology to be made. For as great as your videos are, a few errors now and then is certainly acceptable. I am amazed at how positive you remain when errors are made, what you do show us is definitely worth all your trouble so please don't feel you must apologize for mistakes. They are an amazing, humble, educated and kind young couple that enjoys and brings out the best of every trip. You guys make the bad and poor areas seem like the best places to travel and even stay too. Not like the average people that stay in a 3 to 5 star hotel and only gets to the poor areas by tours for a couple of hours you guys actually dare to stay in local Air B&B's, drive around, eat and interact with the locals no matter the area. Love you guys and tonsssssss of blessings every were you go to 🙏🙌😘

hehe, it's funny that you mentioned this... I had the same thing happen to me when I was in Valparaiso, some old lady paid for my bus fare into town and then proceeded to give me safety advice on where to go and not to go since it was late night and I had mentioned I was new in town. The Chileans are super nice people! :) btw, nice video... I traveled the other way from Bolivia to San Pedro de Atacama :)

Great middle seat strategy! I became a travel agent back in 1996 and was doing that for clients successfully:) Worst that could happen is that someone sits in the middle seat and then you ask them if they would like the window or aisle, i havent heard of one person yet that actually insisted in staying in the middle seat:)

I have to agree with JC Bailey, it's days like these that show us armchair Travelers but things don't always work out the way you planned. but you two are handling it with grace and patience, and that's all you can do. Mistakes happen, we learn and move on. I have been binge-watching your videos now for several days and frequently I find myself just grinning at the screen watching all the wonderful things that you watch.

Don't be so hard on yourself Nate! Travel is all about the learning experiences and the bumps in the road. I remember when we took the train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, and I ended up on the older train rather than the new one because I didn't book in advance. Let's just say we had little "friends" in our first class cabin with us. Think of it as an adventure!!

You guys are really troopers. That would frustrate even the patient of travelers, which I think you guys are. That being said, what an interesting place this is. This has to be the most remote village with the most people I've seen yet. That main street was crowded!

Travel throws you these curveballs. Of all the travel RU-vidrs we watch, the two of you 100% are the happiest and most positive. Some may say it's fake for the camera, but having experienced it from in front of the camera as well as watching I think we can spot it. You guys are happy. And that sh!t is inspiring. I know it's a moot point, these 5 years later, but back then, if you think of ALL the arrangements, connections, deals you had to deal with up until then, that blunder was well-earned; like, you can't possibly NEVER, EVER make a mistake, get distracted as you're constantly spinning plates, and all the interruptions in the world and ace it every time! This proved you weren't a Marvel live action figure! Love you guys!

Nice trip guys, its cool to remember how nice is this little city, i miss so much San Pedro! This part of Chile has the clearest skies in the world for stargazing, so you definitely should book one tour. I recommend the Space Obs they have telescopes, and some good explanations about astronomy. Don`t miss the Salar de Tara is one of the most beautiful places in Atacama desert.

Oh man! We've almost had this happen to us 1x regarding a flight. We thought we had a flight booked out of China, but just 2 days before flying into China we realized we hadn't actually yet bought our flight out which we had to show upon immigration. It happens when you are researching so much and booking so much so frequently :)

That feeling you experienced is from hot thermals. Sorry, you had a rough experience in Calama. When I did a similar trip we flew into ANF Antofagasta and drove up to San Pedro de Atacama. We then flew out of Calama. Calama is in the middle of nowhere and is as close as the Chileans could put a major airport to the tourist sites. Most of the fliers are copper mine workers commuting.

I went through something similar in Calama, spent 3 hours at the airport and still ended up leaving with no car. It was an ok airport to be stuck in though.

Oh no! I feel like all of my most ridiculous travel stories have to do with rental car mess-ups (on either my behalf or theirs.) Also, when we flew into Atacama we had a really rough flight landing as well. I wonder if it's more common there because of the ... atmosphere? .. that's not the word I want but hopefully you pick up what I'm puttin' down lol.

You can really tell the difference with the shotgun mike! Don't think of videos like this as depressing. They are actually vital to round out the story. Not everything goes perfectly all the time, and it's good to see the difficulties as well as the joys.

I agree with jc baily. you guys have done incredibly well...most of the days/places. I guess it is a bit like that ol'song 'I beg your pardon/I never promised you a rose garden/along with the sunshine/there's gonna be a little rain sometime.' so sorry nate you felt so bad about the 'boo.' at least you ended up with 4 massive empanadas which made me really hungry and I am fighting the desire to eat the other tasty kake I bought. but it is almost bed time so I think I can hold out. hugz and thanks

Sometimes things don't go as planned and yes it sucks, but you guys seem to do a good job trying not to let it ruin your day and figuring out how to move on from it. Which can sometimes be hard when traveling because you have this image of how perfect everything should be. But don't say sorry or feel bad like it affects the vlogs! It's good for other people to see that traveling all the time isn't going to be perfect 100% of the time, and that is ok!

I travel for work and rent cars almost every week. I've gone through to rent a car and must not have clicked "confirm" and the airport sold me there where no cars. I had to uber to a different location to find a car for the week.

I spent 9 days in Santiago in May 2018 and had a brilliant time, my favourite band (Erasure) were there as part of their world tour so it gave me the perfect excuse to see them in a new place and meet some long term Facebook friends for the first time. Didn't you go to Valparaiso?
