Tip top players. Odd time signatures, note pairings. Everyone seems so comfortable, but my mind is in knots! I have to say, Mayo’s skill leaves me speechless. Everyone else blows my mind, but Mayo leaves me vaporized.

It feels comfortable because there aren't any odd time signatures. Phrasing of 8 bars, repeating. Time is 4/4, it's just that the melody has triplet groupings of 5 at times.

@@Bluejay-ri1yf Also the harmonic rate is uneven. The chords land on the first and last strong beats of every 2 bars. Having just finished my transcription of all the solos on this I decided that it's better to think of this in 12/8 rather than 4/4 since the melodies and solos are phrased in 12/8. Also, writing it in 4/4 would mean having triplets all over the place which can be difficult to read.
