Prayers for baby Olive- it's awful going home without your baby. Rough time for a family. Aaron is doing right to support his family and to give Olive the extra care she needs.
I love to see how people react to things that they don't really agree on. I agree almost exactly with Dusty's opinions on what ghosts are. In fact now that I think about it I think I do completely agree. which is weird because I feel like I have some whacky opinions compared to most! But I digress. I enjoyed observing how he reacts because I feel like he handled it with so much grace. He still stood firm on what he believed and yet didn't put down others opinions. Nateland still teaching me in ways I don't expect! Enjoying the podcast as always. Thanks guys!
I definitely like the slower flow of this podcast. I have turned off others that are more fast paced because I like to relax and enjoy the conversation.
I love that you could see Dusty the entire time Anjelah was telling her story. Him shaking his head was hilarious so you knew how he would respond afterwards.
44:24 regarding Anjelah's comment "these are the only shoes I have" (to wear to church): when I was about 10, I had a friend sleep over on Saturday night, and she was going to go to church with us on Sunday. My dad scolded her, saying, "We don't wear flip-flops to church." She ran out of our house embarrassed, and obviously didn't go to church with us. Now which was more important? Her being in church with flip-flops? Or not going at all, and possibly never going after that judgy interaction? Still makes me sad. 😢
OK, that transition to Nate was really smooth (?). I had to go back and watch it again to make sure I didn't miss something. Wonder how many folks bailed after a few minutes and have no idea that Nate is even on this week.
Brian, for your show name consideration: Breakfast Buffet. Although you may have to legitimately serve breakfast at the show to avoid rioting, which seems like a net win.
What a nice way Dusty and Brian talked about ghosts with Anjelah. Good to see Christians being patient and kind with someone who isn't on the same page, she's got good company here to help her on the road!
Nate is the kind of guy who after learning two friends were born 4 days apart asks, "Are y'all the same age?" He's obviously Vandy smart and why we love all things Nateland.
Dusty is right. Rebuke the evil in the powerful Name of Jesus. But don't welcome that trash back in your heart. A rebuke should be repentance from wickedness and not an excuse to continue dabbling with that stuff after you get creeped out.
When I pulled up RU-vid and seen the episode at first glance it looked like I seen Breakfast, Dusty, and Anjelah sitting with a giant teddy bear sitting in Nate's chair. I was totally surprised to see Nate back !! Love you guys
Love the show… and love Anjelah, but who else turned the pod off when Anjelah started with her story? The shaking of Dusty’s head spoke for half of us… 🤣 I’m sure you will get plenty of angry comments, so I’ll keep it light…. Love you all, praying for you all, and looking forward to next week as we get to welcome Aaron back into the fold!
Didn't turn it off but I'm very aware that I'm opening a door in my home while I listen 😬 Kinda like when they're talking about eating things we know are bad for us... except on a spiritual level.
It is one of our most talked about family stories about walking into a hotel room. We walked into one, and just like Dusty’s experience, the bathroom was right at the door. The guy already in the room was going to the bathroom with the door open. Eyes were unintentionally locked, hands covered quickly and he starts yelling “whoa, whoa, whoa” like a principal yelling at running kids in a hallway. I bet every single day of his life he thinks on this moment as he closes the door now. PTSD for him, lifetime of laughter for us. Love the random conversation to relate with.
Love so much the real conversation with differing ideas but same souls and compassion for each other and learning! This is how we all should communicate! Nateland Podcast does it again!!! Hellooooo Folks!
Dusty, I've been shamed more than once when I say we should respect being in God's house by dressing as nice as possible when in church. You're the man. I can't think of even one thing I haven't agreed with you on. Keep it up!
Ha ha I wasn't expecting my comment to be read. I was like that's my name, oh yeah that's my comment. I felt like a public figure for a minute :) Also surprised but happy to see Nate and love Anjelah. Great show :)
Dusty absolutely killed at the ryman Monday night, he says it’s crock pot comedy but it’s definitely not, he absolutely killed from the second he walked on stage until he walked off. Straight assassin.
I enjoy this podcast so much! You are not mean Dusty… Brian is a gem and puts so much into the planning.. and I just became a Great Grandma yesterday.. we are over the moon!
I just stayed in a Tru for a wedding weekend. It's super bare bones, but that was fine for our needs. Minimalist for sure. Though some of the older folks had thoughts, haha.
When I saw that Nate was not on the podcast again, I was livid! I actually went and watched another podcast for a while and then came back. When Nate popped up, I knew it was gonna be a good day. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of y’all. I just miss hearing from Nate.🎉🎉
It’s funny that the know-it-alls (read: people who think they “know” things that are actually impossible to know for sure) that she already called out for judging her in the comments still bother to comment.
I work at a Great Harvest Bread Co store in Illinois, I see there’s one on the map in southwest Nashville. Dusty and Anjelah should check it out and see if they can eat the bread without having problems. It’s delicious and some of the bread is very healthy.
Breakfast: “Nate’s never coming back.” Also Breakfast, five minutes later, after Nate shows up: “LOOK WHO’S BACK, BABY!" In thinking about what Breakfast’s show should be called, I feel like the low-hanging fruit is obviously “The Breakfast Club,” but the spicier one that came to mind when I was listening is “Breakfast With Benefits.” Thanks for a light-hearted, clean podcast; can’t wait to see what Nateland has for us! Keep up the good work!
I stayed in that same Tru by Hilton in Albany when I went to see Dusty at the Albany Funny Bone. Some of the amenities included walking distance to the mall, beautiful view of Dave & Busters from the room, and a group of hillbillies sitting outside by a rusty grill. Oh yea, super trendy. Dusty is the best.
Nate, Aaron, Dusty, and Bubblegum, Have you heard of SpinLaunch? I ran across it and can't help but think that the guy who thought of dimming the sun finally got an idea approved. It puts us one step closer to Dusty's plan to send trash to "space". Thanks for the laughs and the hard work you put into the podcast each week.
I normally don't agree with Dusty's conspiracies and viewpoints. But I also stayed at the Tru by Hilton in Springfield, MO and inexplicably could not sleep AT ALL. Now I'm rethinking my stance on Dusty....
Ironic to have the guy that believes our food is poison (I do too by the way) advertising a drink that is quite literally poison (too much sugar, loaded with preservatives and dyes).
I think it's safe to say that Bates runs this podcast. He starts out clean, has great ad reads, and brings up great topics to talk about. Y'all are all amazing and God Bless! #promotebates
Dusty exclaiming “I hate juice!” Immediately after Breakfast bringing up conspiracy theories is just peak timing for that comment. Took me a second to realize what he actually said versus what I thought I heard. I thought we were about to have to have a “very special episode” of Nateland after that.
There is a client who comes into the salon where I work who loves anything and everything paranormal and insists on talking about nothing else. I tend to get very uncomfortable because of what I believe it represents. My solution is to just pray for her, for the space we’re in together and for Peace. It works every time! Thanks to Anjelah and Dusty (and the whole crew!) for being able to have this conversation.
I’m a death investigator. I’ve worked some pretty bloody death scenes in hotel rooms just to see the room rented out within a week. Pro tip- Wear your shoes.
Dusty's comment on Canada feeling Southern holds very true. "Letterkenny" is a Canadian sitcom that easily feels like it could be set in the American South.
Thank God Nate is back. Not for the sake of the podcast, but for the sake of Bates. We need Nate and Aaron there to keep an eye on him. Every time Dusty starts in on a conspiracy, I can hear Breakfast get “worried”.
Sup Nate, Bake Beans, Aaron, And Dusty!! Yall are killing it! I was at the aquarium in Chattanooga the other day and there was an old dude there that reminded me of Dusty. I was looking at a chameleon there and this guy says “ I don’t think thats real, look at it, it’s not breathing. The eye is moving but that’s probably a camera”. Was waiting for him to laugh or something but he was serious and waiting for me to agree with him.
A few weeks ago with John Crist, Dusty said he rarely leaves his hotel room to explore town. This week, he’s apparently out there adventuring and exploring every town and Doing the Dew…and that’s why I love this podcast
Hey folks. It’s great how Nate was about 20 mins late to podcast in his house. I recently found this podcast and it’s been helping me laugh while working with open blade power tools making a cutting board for my friend and his wife. I haven’t cut anything off of me yet on THIS project.
Anjelah talking about RBF is so true. I’ve heard my whole life “I thought you were a B-word before I met you”, nope, that’s just my face. Thanks though!
Nate thinking Dusty's mumbles was him speaking in tongues during a ghost episode was so hilarious! I'm going to be giggling about it for the rest of the week!
Long time listener, first time comment, but Getting Mountain Dew as a sponsor gives me the same feel like when Wayne and Garth do all those ads in Wayne’s World. But not mad about it at all I do enjoy Baja Blast and this is just more reason to buy it now !
Anjelah’s ghost story reminded me that every catholic diocese has a priest who is an experienced exorcist. Nashville’s is Father Dan Reehil who you can see on RU-vid.
Reminds me of the time I checked into a hotel, dropped my stuff, then walked to get some food. Saw a walking ghost tour and thought it would be a good idea to get closer and hear what was up. Turns out I was staying in the most haunted hotel in Texas. Did not sleep great that night.
