My granddaughter is leaving for Ireland tonight from Hamilton Ont.I am listening to this beautiful song from Nathan and I am balling my eyes out. Beautiful words. Big hugs. Be safe.💝
We are a big Donegal family and my big brother Hugn passed away one year ago today. This song by Nathan, was played at his funeral in Connecticut and it brought everyone to tears. After leaving Dungloe, Donegal, Hugh worked in London for years before travelling to Connecticut where he spent the last 30 years of his life. You're back home in Donegal now Hugh!
My wife loved this song , sitting in the mobile home in Donegal , she sadly passed away , this song brings a tear to me every time I hear it …Rest in Peace Trisha 💔💔💔
I started listening to Irish singers about 3 years ago. I just got hooked. Listen nearly everyday to something by an Irish singer like yourself😊susab laird scotland
Highlands Hotel, Donegal Town September 1992 ... Donegal brought the Sam Maguire Home, the entire county went mad for weeks akin to Glasgow Celtic winning the European Cup in 1967😀😀😀🎶🎶
@Nathancarter796 Was in the Donegal Diamond Square when the lads brought big Sam Maguire home for us to see for the first ever time, must have been 20'000 there and I couldn't see anything cos I was only 8 and too wee to see over the big lumps hogging it all😂😂
Spent the first 2 years of my life in Nazzerth House in fahan Co Donegal which was once a baby home I obviously dont remember it but still feel a real connection to Donegal this song does pull at the heart strings I love Donegal 💚🇮🇪
I started watching Nathan at Christmas on utube . Now I watch him every single day . My love bird dances when I play his videos. He has a fantastic voice and a wonderful entertainer. I’m originally from Scotland now live in Canada . I get teary eyed when he sings Caledonia . I’m still scottish through and through. You can take the girl out of Scotland but you can’t take Scotland out of the girl .🏴🇨🇦
Love this!! My sister was watching Nathan at Antrim Castle gardens last Saturday and sent me a video of Nathan singing this song, I cant get it out of my head since, my Mother was from Buncrana Co Donegal, she would of loved this song and I have a sister who lives in County Donegal, love my wee country Xx
Was für eine hererfrischende und natürliche Erscheinung. Mit einer so wunderschönen Stimme, die einfach das Herz ganz, ganz weit öffnet. Ein wunderschönes Geschenk.
I left my village decades ago, but every time I listen to this song, I visualize the memories of my birthplace. Those beautiful days … I will always save them in the core of my heart. Humble respect and love to all who still miss their homeland.
Great version of a beautiful song, loved by all Donegal people and non Donegal people. Beautiful county for all that live here and all that left and will never forget it.

My mother was from Donegal Crickamore Meenbanad. Her name was Alice Bonar née ward. She was the daughter of Dim Bonar. I visited last year and found my grandfathers house. A beautiful place where we holidayed in the 50s. Great memories.
This is my 10 year old granddaughter's favourite song. Caledonia by Nathan is her 2nd favourite. Although I am Scottish we live in NZ. Just love listening to Nathan.

Such a beautiful dong from Nathan. I love listening to Irish music. Well my name is Neil which I'm told is Irish. I'm born in England but Irish music and the accent really connects to me. I must of had a previous life there. Peace to everyone in the world.
Heard this song by many different singers no version comes close to Nathan's and to say he wasn't born in donegal the love and passion in his eyes when he sings the words back home to my donegal and the words it's in my soul makes you truly feel that it's his home amazing version ♥
Im still here 2024 September Tomorrow its my daughter's 20th birthday and she always use this song to tease me She calls it The suitcases and the boats😂😂😂😂 I know no one will get the joke out of this statement ut its ok
Nathan is one of a kind. He has so much talent. He has a spectacular voice & smile. I spoke to him a few times. He is so friendly, grateful & humble. I can listen to him all day long.
I've got say that I have listened to so many singers sing this song and none come close to Mr Carter's way He owned this, hands down!👍👍💪👍👍😁😎 The Drummer and the other's in the Band's help make it a strong and powerful setting 💪👍
I've got to say after reading many of the commits to this song and for Mr Carter it was sad to see where someone had posted that on His performance at the Opera in Nashville TN USA , the people in the audience were not trying to do the lights with their phones. Sad and I am truly sorry for Their stupidity! From what I can see at this performance the phone lights and the Band and Mr Carter's Voice it was magical! Good Job! This lift's my soul everything I play it,like someone posted it gives me goosebumps Everytime. That is when a Singer is singing from the Soul💥👍
@@nathancarter4062 I'm so sorry for I don't know all these new ways??? I can email and text but that's about my limits for an old man... You are a Class Act, Top Drawer!
The lights of London, are far behind The thoughts of homeland are crowding my mind Familiar places, come in to view I see my home now, soon I'll see you. We'll talk to the old folk, they're getting on Treat them to late nights, sing a few songs We'll talk of the neighbors and life in the town There's so much to tell them, the days fly around. This is my homeland, the place I was born in No matter where I go it's in my soul My feet may wander a thousand places But my heart will lead me back home to my Donegal. And then tomorrow we'll take a walk Down to St. Marys to a sheltered spot We'll kneel and pray there for the ones that're gone And hope they're proud of, their wandering son. This is my homeland, the place I was born in No matter where I go it's in my soul My feet may wander a thousand places But my heart will lead me back home to my Donegal. This is my homeland, the place I was born in No matter where I go it's in my soul My feet may wander a thousand places But my heart will lead me back home to my Donegal Yes, my heart will lead me back home to my Donegal
I first heard this song on our first night in Annagry. On a trip for my wonderful husbands birthday. He has family from that town. A wonderful young man sang it with a gorgeous Irish tenor voice in the bar at the lovely Caisleain Oir hotel. I cried hearing but after 10 days in Co Donegal, I cannot stop listening to this song. I never felt more at home in place (and I'm Sicilian by heritage Irish by marriage :) ) Absolutely love this song, this version and Donegal.
I have heard 1 of Mr Carter's song n felt in love with this young lovely guy singing voice, the crew's music n the 2 lovely angels ladies behind voice . A great combo. 👍. A blessing. I m from 🇸🇬.
I love Donegal. Love this song. Thank you. I was born in Dublin and live in The Netherlands. I wish to send my grief and sadness to Creeslough and the people there. May their hearts heal with a beautiful love that they deserve. Godbless.
@nathancarter796 Hi, I was born in Dublin and grew up there. My Mam was from Dublin and my Father from Liverpool. Often we were ' On the boat to Liverpool", a song which I love. I have always loved Donegal, great down to earth people and still everytime I was there something special happened. I share your music with family and have been listening about two yeras.
This is my brother in laws song as he was from Donegal, we lost him 18 years ago on the 25th Nov and got to admit Nathan is the very best so far to sing this song
Totally a Rolls Royce performance by all musicians. Tempo and overall sound presentation is second to none. A really class performance by drummer, not over doing the rest of the band. I must have listened to this nearly every day since it was posted and still find it outstanding. Just what music is meant to be, overpowering. Thanks.

My Great Grandmother recently passed and this was the song my family sang to say goodbye to her because this was her favorite song. Every time I hear this song I will think of her.
Been a fan since Waggon Wheel rock 2012 !! Still dance to it now !! Seen you recently Telford X2 and Cannock. We love your shows ,especially your dancing ! We bounce along with you except that bouncing at our age isn't as energetic as it used to be 😂 Take care x
