Lost my Mom this past March. Everyday I live on, I try to honor her by not giving up. She never complained, and had every reason to. Toughest person I have ever known. I lost my Dad when I was a child. If you still have your parents, tell them you love them and give em a hug. We should all have compassion for one another, and share some of the love our Mothers gave us. The world would be a better place, and we could show our Moms that we appreciate all the sacrifices they made for us too. Thank you Nathaniel Rateliff for this very powerful song that made this 43 year old man cry like a baby.

Your not alone if this kicked you in the gut. More nights than I can count I watched my mom drag herself out the door to work the night shift plus over time to keep us eating. She passed away 2 years ago and I never forget what she did for me. Funny how musicians can write songs that transport you to different places in time. Some good, some bad, but they always seem to bring you face to face with what cuts you to your core. I love this band.

I had a terrible relationship with my mom growing up. Drugs ruled her life, but even in spite of those demons clawing into her back, she never stopped trying. Now as a grownup I realize how good I had it, how loving my parents were, and how my mom and dad gave every last penny to make us loved and happy and never mentioned how horribly they were both abused and neglected as kids. Found out from my sister when I was an adult. Love you mom and dad.

I listen to the words in this song and find it uncanny in the statements my mother has made to me over the phone. Growing up and moving away proved to be brutal on my mother. Sadly I never considered just how much or how so. She weathered it like a solid rock but she would let me know about it with near these exact same words. I lost Mama two years ago. Looking back through the views and sentiments in the words in this song, I realize just how much more effort and emphasis I should have placed in communicating with her. I know she would never be satisfied with me living with regret in my heart over it. So that much I will not do. What I will do is uplift my spirits and I will place the emphasis of care and communication with my wife and children and grandchildren. After all I know this is what she taught me and I know this is what would honor her memory and allow rest within her soul. I have not run far enough. I have not worked hard enough. I’ll never be justified to say, it will never get better. These words motivate my soul.

These boys know where they came from...the music is from the heart friends. Very well done musically and visually....a sincere tribute to the person that gave you life, cherish your Mom. She had high hopes for you and most likely worked much too hard to give you the things that you wanted as my mother did. If you grew up in a single parent home as I did you'll understand...we weren't rich by any means but there was roof and food on the table, that's what mother's do, take care of their babies, it's engrained in them. Now that your Mom is older, maybe in residential care or a nursing home you make sure to give her everything she needs....even if you can't afford it for yourself, one day when she is gone you'll understand...remember, cherish your mother, God knows she cherished you.

Ill be 60 in August and one of my things on my bucket list was to see you in concert. That came true at Art Park in Lewiston, NY. That was F-ING amazing show. Thank You Sir you're one of the best preformers in my lifetime.

If your Mama is still living, call her today. Even better, visit her if she still lives nearby. Give her a hug, hold her close like she once held you, and tell her that you love and cherish her. That's a pretty small duty considering what your Mama has done for you.

Cancer took my mother in 84', she was always there for me. she passed at the age of 56, I'm 61 now and wonder how much joy she missed. Closure is a hard thing to come by when you miss a loved one's final moments and they keep asking for you. My mother passed away September 14th 2014. I wasn't around no one had any way to contact me. I found out in November of 2014 by my nephew answering the door and saying mama wanted her baby boy. Not A-day goes by that I don't hear those words. As I struggle and succeed at making my own dreams a reality, I am also coaching my kids on what it really means to live your best life and be the best versions of themselves. Although we've had a few bumpy spots along the way, they've all been pretty minor blips on the radar of life. But I know one day we will experience major blips, and when that happens, I want to be the best version of my momself to coach them through that too. I've had this song on repeat a lot lately, partly in reflection of the past. I am thankful for my mom who worked a full-time job, drove us all over God's green earth, who was almost always at every event, did all the grocery shopping, and had a hot dinner on the table every single night for our not-small family. Sometimes we even got to have late-night chocolate milk and ice cream around the dinner table with Dad before he left to go to work at 10. And most days she was able to do all of this without complaint and with a good attitude. I really can't even imagine how tired she must have been. I didn't appreciate her. I didn't know I was supposed to, if that makes any sense. I guess that means I took her for granted. When her and Dad divorced, she was 8 years younger than I am today. Now that I'm 42, I look at other 34-year-old moms and think, "I'm older now than my mom was then." And I have an overwhelming sense of sympathy come over me for her as an individual, not just as my mom. More than being sympathetic, I can now be empathetic with her, mom-to-mom, woman-to-woman, wife-to-wife. Every day that passes, I find myself judging others less and less and less and less. And, man, that's a wonderful feeling! I find myself being calmer and wiser, and that's a great feeling too! Thank you, Mom, for all you have done for me, especially those thousands upon thousands of things that I never even knew you were doing to take care of me when most days you didn't even have any time for yourself. Hey, Mama. It's me. I see you, and I feel you. You are kind. You are smart. You are important.
