yeah, makes more sense than USA (not original origin) or UK, which also contains other languages that England doesn't have (Scottish Gaelic, Irish Gaelige, Welsh, Scots, Ulster Scots) (some of those are dialects). Plus, the flag of England is completely acceptable to everyone, while the UK flag has associations with imperialism, neocolonialism, and current oppression/occupation (like in the six counties in Ireland).

As a Latvian, hearing the USSR anthem is kind of unsettling and this is my first time hearing it in my language too. Nice propaganda from soviet part for making it in the Baltic languages, they probably did that to suppress the protests and convince the masses.
That is not the Ukrainian Version of the USSR anthem. That song is commonly mislabeled as so. It's a Religious song to the Melody of the USSR anthem. The lyrics of the version in this video mention God, however religion was banned in many cases and having religion in the Anthem would not be allowed.

He was very fond of Russia (specifically the USSR), and was oppressed by HUAC (USA) for going against the capitalist system. There are communists in England, but they are either useless or repressed. The Ukrainian one is not actually the soviet one it does use the soviet christmas instrumental anthem but It never uses mentions the USSR and Only mentions Ukraine and Rus something but it does not represents the soviet union.
