Nope, they had directly hit the flag pole. What kept it standing was the dead bodies of soldiers. If you read what really happened, you'd realize that the flag pole was twisted in an awkward way, but it kept standing. Soldiers would stand holding it up, and died doing so.

nuclear war isn't happening. we came close to in the sixties. One brave soviet commander refused to release the button. It's impressive how a small colony that fought against imperialism became even more powerful than its mother country and created one of the world's most greatest nation's. Say what you will about my country, everyone loves the United States and wished they were American. Don't deny it. You love the motherland as much as we do. The government may be hypocritical, but forget them. That's why this nation is among the best. Because you have the right to slander the governemnt. And they fear us.
Believe me, they don't. You think they fear you, and they like that you think the way you do. The American Dream died and freedom with it. But who am I to judge. My own country is one of the most corrupt on Europe, so I don't judge.
