It seems like almost every time someone of Indian descent pops up in videos, there will always be comments about CECA. This is blatantly racist and disappointing to say the least. Yes, there are many Indian/South Asian expats who work in Sg but have people forgotten that there are also Singapore Indians, i.e., Indians who have lived here even before independence and seen themselves as Singaporean?

The only time i heard singaporean speaking a few Malay words Its sad to see the later generation dont understand the simple Malay words mean😢 After all, Singapore was once a Malay country, and ijnsoutheast Asia Its weird to see Southeast Asia country that their own people dont understand a words of the most spoken lamguage in that region😂

Malay isn't really a language. It is copied and roja from another language. South East Asia was rule by India, who were the earliest seafarers and traders. I am only stating historical facts.

For the most part it is the same. But, the Singaporean one is a bit different on the intonation. Malaysian: Ke kanaaaan pusing! Singaporean: Ke kanan puuuuuu-sing! The Indonesian one is the best one though. It's short and simple to follow

Starting already a bit inaccurate... Baris mean "formation"... so Masuk Baris is more accurate to be "Get into Formation". He actually explained it better after the 20sec mark. Probably confusing because Parade is "Perbarisan"... and me correcting all these, Malay will tease me as "pembaris", which is the ruler for measurement.... hehe

nice take, although "baris" isn't really formation, it is "row". In his explanation, the word "baris" has been used to represent the contingents (noun), also the reason why the word "perbarisan" isn't used to refer to the contingents is because the word "perbarisan" is a noun describing the act of being in rows "berbaris".

Any one questions why our parade commands are still in Malay? When I was in the army, the commanders did not bother to explain what the words meant but we were supposed to react mechanically. I believe most Singaporeans don’t understand the commands too.

@@ElectroDuckyMusic You are definitely not alone. I only understood our national anthem after I have worked in Indonesia for a number of years and picked up some Bahasa Indonesia. I had my Indonesian colleague explain our national anthem to me. Don’t think my daughter understands the anthem.

It would be hard to command in a language of which only 18% of the population understands but keep up the good work. Malay is the traditional language of Singapore and should be respected as such since Singapore is part of the Greater Malay world and cannot be separated from Singapore's landscape.
