Lady Gaga was and will be forever my idol, my inspiration, my entire life. She's so respectful, open-minded and engaged for people.. Without You & I, baby I'd rather die ♥
every time i hear her yell "ARE YOU LISTENING" it gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes. this woman's message, in music and spirit, is much more powerful than "get wasted and party and have sex" like most pop stars. she wants us to love ourselves for our different lifestyles, looks we were born with, bodies, and the people we are. therefore, i will never fathom why she receives so much hate for what she's doing.
He listened all the way. GaGa and Obama will forever be icons of a very important era. Sadly, things have turned ugly now as we all know, but I still have faith that we will have more amazing people like them when the buffoon is done.
Well the Supreme Court listened not Obama, as they passed same sex marriage federally, obama just happened to nod his head in agreement (after spending a few years detesting same sex marriage)

Coming here bc this was featured on an ABC original 4 night series, "When We Rise" about the history of the gay liberation and gay rights movement. Today, we have legal marriage equality yet we are still fighting the fight. But, one of the most amazing things I can say is this series has taught me and my generation that were just coming into realization as to what this is and the fight that this has been a long time. The fight has been long and all generations will fight. My generation and the generations before and after mine will keep on fighting. Every generation has its spark. Mine was the most anti-LGBTQ+ man and vice president being elected into office and only months before the most deadly shooting we have had in America. That also happened to kill 53 of our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. For later generations, I hope that the series that I looked this up from is the spark to get them to join in the fight that our past brothers and sisters alike have fought. This may not be read by anyone... from the looks of things I don't think anyone has read or left a comment here in 3 years. But, if anyone does read this, now or 10-20 years from now, know that whatever fight you're fighting. Just started or has been long overdue, will happen if we all just fight hard and long enough. Before the gay liberation movement of 1971 no one knew that 44 years later it would be legal for same sex couples to legally marry. Now its your chance. Because no generation is ever silent, every generation has something that they have stood up for. Let whatever fight you have be it.
This woman is truly iconic, and truly inspirational. Nowadays a lot of gay youth don’t understand the battle and fighting that was done not so long asgo for being openly and unapologetically gay. She is one of the few that shaped gay rights movement in this time. She was so vocal about gay people and her love for them. I was in high school struggling to find myself, struggling to accept my homosexuality , and her music and her persona, and her outspokenness aided me to be happy and accepting. She was a strong and influential voice for marriage equality she is just , just so influential
I WAS THERREEEE. agh. my heart was not beating for 4 minutes listening to her. she's too amazing. she'll always be there for us and the community. i love her TOO much
really Lady Gaga for first lady - she has to go in the policy...lovely Gaga she is so friendly and human lover and engaged for humans and rights!!!!! Hands UP
"They say that this country is free, and they say this this country is equal... but it is not equal if it is 'sometimes'." Very simple words. Very powerful words. I feel Lady Gaga, and I know she feels us.
If I could have just one wish granted. It would be to simply give Lady gaga a hug. She is my inspiration, and she is without a single doubt in my mind the most influential person in our day and age.
As for your backyard, stay there. As Dorothy said "If I [you} ever go looking for my [your] hearts desire again, I [you] won't look any further than my [your] own backyard. Because if it's isn't there, I [you] never really lost it to begin with." That's right!
It's interesting to see her tone down the fashion a bit. I expected her to pop out with chunks of ground chuck strapped to her blouse. She looks really great here..
Re@Laimek You don't need to be gay to want everyone to have equal rights. You wouldn't have to be a dog to tell someone that beating one is wrong. Lady Gaga is standing up for what she believes is right, and she's not just just a woman who sings. She carries that star power and ability to draw attention to an important matter. That's exactly what she is doing.
Lady GaGa is a wonderful artist. Her music alone is reason to love her, and this just takes the cake. Although I don't much understand some of the outfits she wears.
they say this century is equal, but it is no equal, if its sometimes. i love that line, its the best one in the speech which was so inspiering and amazing !!!! :P LOVE GAGA
In terms of her music, appearance and not being afraid to stand up for what she believes in, that is what makes her brilliant. I admire those who are different and inspire people to be themselves -while standing up for their beliefs- rather than someone who knows calculus and can quote Ulysses verbatim. I'm sorry if you're so one sided that you can only see brilliance in those who are gifted scholastically.
She's amazing. I love it when people with that much power over the modern world use it for something that actually matters. Some singers advertise lipstick, or fashion labels... and people buy it because they admire the singer. But Gaga advertises this, and we listen because we love her, if everybody with influence signed there name to something that mattered then maybe they could change the world.
Why do people have problems with other people in the first place? Why cant everyone just be ... nice? Normal? Happy? I dont get it. But im glad she's bringing attention to this issue, and probably grabbing a young audience for the cause as well.
Gaga, i don't think u even realize just how amazing and inspiring u are. This speech really touched me. Thank u for truly caring about us. It's about fucking time we change the world. WE CAN DO IT!
Lady GaGa IS intelligent and she's the perfect spokesman as right now in the music industry she's one of the big titans of pop culture and music. Like her music or not you have to accept that.
When GAGA does things like this, it makes me love her much more day by day! I'm straight but I love what Gaga demands and what she wants.... FULL EQUALITY FOR ALL OF US! Love you Mother Monster!
I'm not really a fan of her music (for dance I prefer Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Kaskade, etc.) but this...is awesome! As a bisexual who ended up a homeless teen and a highschool dropout for coming out, to see someone mainstream and famous speak up like this-that is fxxkin awesome!!!!!!!!1
She has been famous since 2008, and had a career starting 2006, so yes, 1 or 3 years is pretty long to me. In that career, she has managed to become a shockingly successful artist in what you yourself see as a short span in comparison. I'm only comparing how they stand behind a stand and speak, not what they have done :] Logic, again.
oh really? i wonder why i cant write down in a visa application im married!!! and even worsewhy i cant apply for a K1 visa!!!! do you know what a K visa is????
