Basic info on the process from going from national guard/army reserves to the active component. Feel free to contact me through the App “ RallyPoint” Profile name: SGT Cody Thompson Video is for service members Thanks!
Im currently 12 years NG and transferring to active under a new MOS. Thank you for all of this. It's truly sad that its 2022 and we gotta constantly watch out for ourselves. As a medic i say the same shit. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR RECORDS. It's sad but true. The Army will lose your shit and according to them "It never happened"
Im starting this process now. Hopefully it doesn't take too TOO long. Update: my paperwork is currently at Brigade level. Yes, you read that correctly. (January 2022): I have since been fully approved and I’m currently at Fort Lee for reclass. I’m just gonna post the rest of my army career (within OPSEC) in this comment section.
@@AR-cn1fw your Recruiter should help you with that. My Recruiter gave me a couple of examples of previous people, I used them to make my own. My Commander was really cool and understanding about wanting to do this for my career and my family.
@@thatguyjy7704 there are ALOT OF variables to why someone would like to switch over from guard/reserves to active. Especially in the military there many things that switch yearly and depending your unit, branch, personal experience, date of time, or what side of the bed the decision maker woke up on. Nothing is truly set for how things go in the military.
I'm in Florida, in the guard, and I'm waiting to get out of ait to do collage then go active duty, all while finding this in my recommended for no real reason. If this isn't help from god I don't know what is.
Also psa if your an army reservist it’s easier to transfer over to active. My unit is huge or company got cadets new soldiers every day in processing. So if your unit is under strength good luck. Especially as a nasty girl.
@@sonny_3033 it has to be signed by division to be fully approved 368. Good luck I’m active now I’d say for myself the grass is greener on the other side.
When going through meps again do they reference your medical records from prior to enlistment or do they just push you through medical with a good PHA?
@@lifewithtamk3903 I think you should go to school on civilian side to study a good paying job. They will pay for your school. Going active will probably take most of your time and the pay is average.
Again guys, you can contact me on my RallyPoint account here www.rallypoint.com/home. You will need to set up an account but is free. I highly recommend getting verified for further networking purposes
I got denied to go from army reserves to Active Duty, and I'm really going through a real hardship, they didn't give a fuck, My 1st Star denied me, told me to finish my contract then go Active, I still have 5 years on my contract, I feel like my life is ruined, it sucks badly
thank you for this! also how long should I wait to be able to transfer from guard to active? like a year or two? also do I need to wait for my contract to be done to even be able to apply for this transfer?
I have a question. I am in the Texas National Guard, been in for about 3 and a half years. I just got married about 5 months ago. Me and my wife have been talking about going active duty. My question is: once my conditional release gets approved and everything, what is our living situation going to look like? Will there already be a place for us when we arrive to our duty station? Will I have to live in the barracks and make her stay back home until I find a place?
They give you 10 days in a hotel on base you will pay for the 10 days but they will reimburse you for it but during those ten days you can either look for an apartment off base or they will get you a house on base within those ten days and then you can have a moving company move you or they will pay you to move yourself and your stuff
not drill status, but you don't get much anyways, a friend of mine has been in the guard for 15 years with 1 short deployment only has 11 months of active time.
I just got enlisted in the Army National Guard. I leave for basic training on April 12th. But here’s the question I want to ask. It’s a simple yes or no question. How many college credits and hours do I have to have in order to be a commissioned officer in the active duty US Army, and can I become a officer in the active duty US Army with an associates degree?
To be a commissioned officer I believe it’s at least 90 credits or a bachelors degree for like OCS or direct commission. You could do green to gold to go from enlisted to officer if your on active duty
Sorry for being a year late. I just commissioned through federal OCS at Fort Benning two days ago. I have a bachelors degree, and so did everyone else that I was there with. A few even had advanced degrees. I would say you’re very unlikely to commission with just an associates degree. Just being honest with you.
Im trying to do my conditional release but the unit says 15 were sent in and 1 approved in the last fiscal yr. Im the only one with an income in my family my wife is in school and has unpaid clinical hrs and is unable to really work. I was laid off right before the deployment im on and dont have a job when i get home. Got any advice i really want out of the guard and to go active again for the benefits already have a recruiter im working with thats just waiting on an approbed 368
I am actually transferring from Air Force reserve to active duty Army.! I didn’t ship out to basic training with the Air Force yet but already attended 2UTA’s.. I requested a Discharge from the Air Force reserve. How long it might take.?
If you just re up/ enlist without doing a reclass then whatever duty station that could available for your particular MOS. Not guaranteed U will get a say so.
Found this video now, and thanks! I would like your instagram to ask follow up questions, you posted your ig in another comment and you dont show up did u change it? If so please informe me of your new one. Mine is basedmoop_ i have a pikachoo photo
So if I want to stay 11B in active duty, are you saying I might not be able too? I'm NG and want to go AD, but I want to stay 11B, so if I start the process and it gets signed off and I'm released, will I have to reclass into a different mos if there aren't any available or can I wait until there is availability then go to meps?
Brett Colton now with how the prior service business rules are, I HIGHLY DOUBT you will have to reclassify. When I did it it was when they were only taking airborne qualified infantryman
@@american-cody6608 ok, thank you, I really want to stay in the infantry, but NG isnt cutting it for me anymore and want to make sure I can keep my MOS
Negative. Your in a national guard contract. The only way to get out of that with the conditional release is after you have completed BCT and AIT or OSUT More than likely it would still not get signed even afterwards if you try to submit it immediately just getting to your unit
Hey I’m thinking about the national guard... what if I want to go active or get deployed within the USA how long will I gone ? And how much money you make ?
NoLimit Slim well first off, what is it you want? Do you wanna serve full or part time? Are you wanting to deploy often? Online has the whole pay break down of what you would make
I’m currently at AIT and I feel like I made a mistake I’m in the reserves and I want to go active is it possible to switch while still at ait or do I wait untill I get back home ?
Alex M. Your gonna need to A) do some time with your unit then go for the conditional release B) wait til your contract is over then re up in the active component
@@american-cody6608 will do. thanks I'd assume it'll be an easy transition for me in my case. Not looking to change my mos just get my foot in the door.
I could’ve sworn you keep your asvab score the entire time you’re in the military. Maybe you have to take it again if you want to switch branches or you want an mos but your score is too low and you have to score higher
Let’s say that you signed for the contract WITH its bonuses. So if you want to make a switch, it will be required you to serve in your current unit for some years before the switch and for you to be green on everything including PT score.
