That company that produced film trailers and advertising materials for all the film distributors in the UK and the USA. Millions have watched their productions but have never heard of them!

You really excelled with this piece, fascinating from start to finish. Loved ordering from NSS, so polite on the phone, it was always Good afternoon NSS, not like the other trailer company .

Warwick Sound for many years had Tuesday afternoon’s booked by NSS for mixing trailers, l personally mixed the late great Maurice Binders ‘Bond’ trailers, he insisted on using Patrick Allen as V/O but he was only used on UK / Ireland, In the States a more dynamic voice was used, we provided a 3 track music and effects 35mm magnetic track for them and other language versions. Through the years Warwick mixed hundreds of trailers. Originally NSS had their own mixing theatre in the basement under Barclays Bank in Soho Square and as at that time Warwick who were at 2 Soho Square they were chosen to mix when NSS closed their facilities down. When Warwick moved from the square to Wardour Street we continued mixing until around the mid 80s.

Yes I noticed the bond trailers were usually Patrick Allen ( 'Crane' if you remember it!) My favourite Bond trailer of the early ones was definitely Goldfinger and latterly The Spy Who Loved Me. I think trailers today are full fast cuts and thumping music and it tells you little of the story or what to expect. Anyway rant over. You did good work my friend!

Fascinating and well put together. This tribute would be well received in the FB group FILM AND CINEMA APPRECIATION?

Have found the old NSS Perivale office on Streetview, and I have to say, although it's occupied today, externally, it's not in as good condition as it was when NSS occupied it.

Acting on a CTA tip-off I explored a part demolished cinema in Wimbledon and when looking in an upstairs room I found hundreds of old quad sheets, unfortunately I didn`t have the wit to collect them up. Doubtless they came from the NSS, ah well....
