I'm going as the Declaration of Independence from National Treasure for an early 2000's movies-themed Halloween party and this is exactly the cut of the movie I needed to be sure my costume is accurate. 10/10 thank you for this.
@@delicheese6774 so fun story I walked into the party and the host was wearing the SAME COSTUME so it was a little awkward but generally everyone thought it was funny
I wasn't pleased when Patrick (Jon Voight) told his son Ben (Nicolas Cage) that he had destroyed his life after he learned that he stole the Declaration of Independence. What was he talking about when he was saying that to his son? In the sequel, He even screamed "overreact." This was right after they saw Emily Gates (Helen Mirren) who is divorced to Patrick and was Ben's mother . Did Abigail and Riley flinched in that movie?
I mean, he quite literally stole a national treasure. It would be as if someone stole the crown jewels. You don't get off easier for that level of theft. I'd hardly call that over-reacting.
@@KeithTreason a crown doesn't even compare to a paper document no matter how old it is. the declaration of independence is over 200 years old and the longer it stays out of it's protective box or whatever that thing is called the more likely it is to incur more degradation. so yeah not really something i'd compare it with something metallic.

is he really doing it for good reasons or he's self and he's family it's real crime stealing that thing i forget the end if he said he gave any of the treasure to charity
Of course he does it fer 2 reasons, he does it to clarify and excavate a hidden templars' treasure which is historically and culturally of great value. And he does it to get benefit of it. At the very end, they are offered %10 of the whole treasure but Ben accepts much less of it. Still Ben, Riley and Abigail becomes sooooooo rich. And no, their family ain't traitors.
He gave all the treasures away to museums around the world, and gain very little share from it and 1% for Riley. As for the crime charged for stealing the Declaration, they put the blame on Sean Bean and crew, the villain of the film.
Half the country is right leaning. It's wrong to dislike someone for their beliefs. Its like disliking someone because they are gay or their religious beliefs.
