FYI: Back in the '90s when Trump was struggling with his failed Taj Mahal venture, he tried to eliminate competition from Native American casinos by illegally funding an attack ad campaign against them and personally going on a media campaign in which he tried to portray them as untrustworthy. Trump went so far as to testify before congress in a pathetic attempt to have Native Americans stripped of sovereignty over their own land, even questioning their very tribal identity by suggesting they didn't "look Native American" to HIM. Imagine having to endure centuries of struggle as a people only to have a greed driven elitist attempt to strip you of everything you have left. Fortunately, he was shot down before congress and called out as the bigot that he is. Congressman George Miller said in response to him: "Thank God that is not the test of whether or not people have rights in this country or not, whether or not they pass your look test." "Mr. Trump, do you know in the history of this country where we have heard this discussion before: 'They don't look Jewish to me'"? "'They don't look Indian to me. They don't look Italian to me.' And that was the test for whether people could go into business or not go into business"

This actually happened all over America. They walked my relatives (Tuscarora) from NC to NY, they called it, "The Death March".

The trail of tears wasn’t just cherokees or tsaligi it was also the mvskoke people which is the Creeks, the Choctaw (Chata), and Chickasaw people. Each of these groups of people were ripped from their lands and relocated to Oklahoma.

I wonder if giving each tribe or reservation a congressional seat, or multiple, would help a lot of the issues facing natives. Give them a voice over our country and over THEIR land.

I pray that one day we Hawaiians will be acknowledged as well, God bless you brothers and sisters in your rightful journey!

It’s a terrific story! Thank you. In my area, arrowheads were found easily, when I was a kid. We learned that indigenous people were terrific folks with an amazing heritage. But, years passed. Yesterday, I met a red/haired lady who said she had lived “with the Utes “. I told her about the new addition of the Ute Museum outside of Montrose, Colorado, where my son and I ran a licensed daycare in our house. (Then, at the museum, Chief Ouray and his wife Chipeta were honored. ) It was such a beautiful place. And, it still is.

I'm watching this in 2024 in Illinois. A tribe just this past week was able to get land that was taken from them almost 200 years ago. It took until halfway through the third decade of the 21st century for it to happen.

I feel for all Indians, my heart goes out to them. I am black, but I feel close to you all, I a Arizona black women who grew up with Indian people, on their land. God bless you all.

I just want to mention that double jeopardy exist on reservations, A Native American can be charged in Tribal court then charged in Federal court for the same crime and a misdemeanor can become a felony because you are living in A Indian Reservation.

Sad that our country has so much brutal, violent history. From taking land from natives to enslaving Africans, it’s all so sad. Also, I don’t like the “it happened forever ago narrative.” It doesn’t matter to me... I know that if my ancestors had gone through just a percentage of what these groups endured, it would break my heart. People are allowed to be upset at what their ancestors went through. Just because they are dead now doesn’t mean they never mattered. It doesn’t mean their experiences, stories, and lives never mattered.

I have felt all along that Native Americans deserve reparations!

Speaking of curious things about this subject I have noticed how many current Americans claim Native American ancestry. Actually I rarely meet one that doesn’t claim this. Also while the individual tribes are free to choose whom they wish to include in their tribe I suspect less than 10% blood is a little ridiculous of a standard. The vast majority are far less than this.

Give them their due and land. Whatever they want. African American people as well.

Additionally anyone who studies native American culture (I assume Native Americans especially would be interested in this fascinating subject) will know that the typical and the majority of Native American subcultures are warrior cultures. They typically fight for three things.1) status or what’s called coup. 2) to steal other tribes women 3) to destroy another tribes, complete population man, woman, and child, and take over their territory. This frankly was the norm for tribes, all over the world. Native Americans were not either bad or good. It’s just typical of tribal culture. The main problem the native Americans dealt with was a new tribe, appeared from Europe with a vastly superior military system. Utilizing the same method of warfare the date of Americans utilized turned out to be a bad idea for native Americans.

I have enormous respect for native Americans however if reparations are desired I suggest a few important principles to consider. 1) reparations should definitely go to those individuals that were actually harmed. Not their descendants. 2) they should be paid by those who harmed them. (I for example was not in this country nor was my family for at least 150 years after. We did not steal anything from native Americans. We were robbing people in our part of the world. 3) don’t go after people for reparations simply because they are white (this is racism) the vast majority of land and other things stolen from native Americans were by other native Americans. They should pay up

Why do you think we have totem poles made up not of depictions of people, but animals as a huge hint?!! Why do you think that there are portals and vortexes worldwide? Why do you think almost all of our pyramids, temples, buildings, towers, and more, were all covered up and yes-cut off from?!? Why do you think we have never deviated from saying we wanted our land back?!? Protectors of nature,?!? Those arent just buried ancestors, but our structures purposely covered because they cannot be uprooted, some is of material indestructible, and all had their uses that we were tasked with. Why is it you think it isnt us and our actions when I say look around, who has a ted like "savages"?!? Black people. Who got citizenship before we did? Who do you really think was in fact the reinforcements, WITH the Settlers, all that our ancestors had seen who had traveled here long ago. Do you really believe that a population of over 50 MILLION Natives would not have seen those ships and gathered far and wide go "savagely kill"?!? Or do you think they saw friiends and a people they even taught agriculture to, taught astrology&astronomy to??!? Why else would they have even made it to land at all, if they had seen enemies??!?!? They were double crossed. And somewhere in the mix, it was likely already decided based on practices of blacks to have their people as slaves. They just werent counting on being double crossed. What were they after?!? Not just land, not at all. But to take somehow, our abilities. Our powers that 99.9% of Natives have lost. But it is real. It has been about power, control, and being feared if they "took" our powers. Why do you actually think they are further destroying the planet we all that exist and that the few like me can even do, and are doing all we can, but isnt enough obviously, when things like CERN , And electricity all hugely dumping, or, grounding out into Earth for one slice of an example. What happens if too much electricity is pushed through a power line to transformers or substations, or even you wall outlet?!? It explodes outwardly and violently!! Then theres all other factors as a single example!! When many facilities like CERN had also been allowed to use that huge amount of electricity energy, during winter when much of Europe was facing shortages of and power grids went down last winter!! CERN, where they are still trying to create whats called "THE GOD PARTICLE", after they learned those abilities cannot be harnessed, controlled, taken,inherited, and thus far at least to my knowledg, cannot be recreated. Even with all todays technology and things that can be genetically created and even cloned. Its personally my opinion that the reason CERN and just the idea of creating the God Particle is actually a priority. When all those billions of dollars dumped into that program and others like it that could have even been used to help the hundreds of millions of people that depended on the now all but dried up water scources that Im willing to bet probably that CERN uses huge amounts of water to cool that large mass exodus of electricity needs. That, and all the machines used to "farm".Bitcoin. im guessing based on that design alone, im thinking mr. Elon Musk created. Anyways. I just felt as I always do-compelled to keep trying to be heard

First of all Native were not the original Americans they came over a land bridge from Asia. Many Native received Reparations the Dawes Act, from the Seminoles Wars gave Native Americans benefit in Oklahoma and wouldn't share the benefit with the Blacks.There are Native Americans who received benefits from casinos and there are Natives Americans who are half native get benefits and reservations.
