From the village of Sichomovi, Upper Polaaca, Arizona and of the Rabbitt/Tobacco Clan, Garrett has established his own style of Hopi pottery artistry through the guidance and teachings of his late material grandmother, Marilyn Mahle, as well as the mentorship of renowned traditional Hopi potter,
Jacob Koopee, Jr. Garrett has over 35 years of experience working with Hopi clay, and has competed in numerous competitions, receiving prestigious awards throughout the Southwest.

Garrett is the best Hopi potter since Jacob Koopee, and his work is as as it gets. He is a wonderful person, and his skills come from his grace as a thoughtful being. I am so grateful to have known him for decades and to have some of his earliest work.
