I am a 12 year British Veteran and was trying to tell people about the Donbass in 2014. When it all kicked off I tried to tell my former comrades on a military forum why Russia had no choice and that Russia would win. I did this with information and quite politely, a forum I had been a member of for years kicked me off and called me a traitor for defending Russia.

When I moved into the UK the first thing that I’ve noticed is that there is a common theme here “Oh, you can’t say that” This is something I have never heard in my life in Eastern Europe. Instead of bringing different arguments or points of view, they just try to shut the conversation down by calling you names. I wish you a great weekend and I am glad I came across your comment.
The same thing happened to me when I warned people that Russia not only had every right to defend itself, but that Russia was GOING to win. At this point I WANT to see the Western Hegemony suffer a massive, humiliating defeat so that the people making these decisions will have no choice but to abandon them.

Also keep in mind that those exported weapons are nerfed comparing to the original ones (for example USA Air Force's F16 is stronger than the ones exported to Ukraine).

Russia felt justified going in when Ukraine launched its anti terrorist operations in donbass. But Russia also knew that it's economy was too dependent on the west and if they went in there would be a limited amount of time before US sanctions hurt the economy enough for the avarage Russian to no longer support the war. Russia had time because the rebels were holding but it was naturally not sustainable without direct Russian intervention. At least in theory. Eventually Ukraine was on luhansk city doorstep and it appeared the province would fall. The rebels pulled out of luhansk completely and went south to hit mariupol which was one of Ukraines biggest port cities. The Ukrainians fell for the bluff and the rebels withdew from mariupol back to luhansk and hit the retreating Ukrainians who had the unfortunate job of digging their gear out of mud that had now frozen solid. It turned into a massacre and Ukraine had to agree to the Minsk ceasefire. Russia had all the time they needed to prepare the economy so an invasion could be sustained indefinitely.

Totally wrong, Initially Ukraine couldn't be trusted as a good neighbor tolerating diversity, plus it worked with NATO in Iraq in 2006 which cast suspicion in the West. NATO will co-operate with Ukraine giving support but would hold short of allowing it to become a NATO member. If it did join, then all NATO countries are obliged to react and join the fight. This way NATO will just sit in the corner minding its own business, waiting for Russia to make a fatal mistake with other NATO-aligned countries. Like 'wolves', they would form a pack and tear Putin apart along with America. and other Western-aligned countries. In the big picture, Russia has fallen into a 'cow-pat' with no hope of winning. Russia is a poor economic country with only 2,200 tons of gold reserves compared with America's 18,000 +. I mean, I spoke about this with some friends that are amazing at geopolitics and the consensus was that there was no way in hell Ukraine could actually withstand an open war with Russia, no one with two brain cells thought that, in fact, most of us that are into geopolitics believed that Russia was bluffing now that the west is weak to put its foot inside Ukraine and stop any potential annexations to NATO without a fight. All of us were waiting for the peace talks to happen and for someone to make concessions. Then NATO comes in and starts pumping Ukraine with resources but still, the prospect outcome had not changed simply because Ukraine will run out of manpower FAR sooner than Russia, no matter how good the NATO weapons are, Russia will slowly creep in and will inevitably win in the long run. Before the first year had passed it became abundantly clear that NATO never believed Ukraine could win with just stacks of euros and weapons and that the whole purpose of this was to use Ukraine to justify causing loses to Russia and stifle them for a year or two before Ukraine folds like a lawn chair.
Zelenski's way of thinking about bigger badder weapons is like throwing a pebble into a pool to raise the level of the water. The problem is that it will take alot of pebbles to raise the water level to be noticeable. The US is waking up to the fact that the size and amount of weapons they are giving to Ukraine still hasn't made a noticeable difference in the water level. Zelenski wants to drop a huge boulder in the pool (bigger badder weapons). There's overkill and there's practical reasoning. Great video and love your explanations.

@@TRONA-CA. I feel you. but the problem is that the war must be ended, not frozen. otherwise it will happen again and next time it will be even worse than now. Russia has already tried to resolve the conflict peacefully several times (conflict was frozen in fact) but was cheated each time and here we are 💔
Austin's choice of words leaves the door open to something much worse than what we are seeing now. 'No single weapon,' doesn't mean 'nothing' if it really means 'only a large scale combined arms intervention would be required'. There is no way he wrote that.
I wouldnt even be supporting this cause, if living standards werent dropping. Its a matter of being on the right side of history and supporting Ukraine the way it became since 2014, is definitely not it. Not even going to start with USA and NATO
