I experienced as a teenager the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the fall of the Shah. Back then - 1979 - I already understood that what America does best, is understand herself. And what she does worst, is understand the rest of the world. Iran has been a chain of stupid, ill-advised measures that helped destabilize the Middle East and has fostered both Gulf Wars, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the rise of Al-Qaeda and ISIS and all the misery it has brought to millions of people. That said, 45 years ago, it has become more than clear that for a superpower pretending to rule over the planet, the US is not equipped to do so. She has become accustomed to fight neo-colonial wars against Grenadian island dwellers, Iraqi and Libyan camel jockeys and Afghan shepherds, but Ukraine has shown that against a full-fledged enemy like Russia, the US is nothing but a paper tiger. The US has made fatal errors that have cost a lot of lives outside America, but most of all, it has destroyed her power base. Now with the US dollar going down as well, the US will become a has-been on the world scene. With all respect to Scott Ritter and his well-placed patriotic sentiments, the fate of his country cannot be altered anymore.

Scott is always insightful clearly and rationally laying out his views . I never tire listening to Scott and his message of anti war and promotion of diplomacy and coexistence

There are russian experts in US and in Europe. The problem is just like during the "pandemic" certain doctors didn't get air time to talk or got canceled for speaking, or got "discredited" because what they were saying didn't fit the narrative. It's the same with Russia.

I would describe this situation so, that NATO is a natural reaction to the aggressive and imperialistic behaviour of Russia. Spain, Portugal, France, England and Germany have all been imperialistic countries, but now they are not anymore such. But Russia still is, and in that way Russia is a relict in Europe. But a dangerous relict, which is forcing the European countries to increase their military industy. During the so called Great Wrath (1714 - 1721) the Russian army occupied whole Finland and killed almost the whole Kaitera family, which owned several farms in Liminka in Western Finland. After this war the Kaitera family had to sell some of their farms, bcause they simply didn't have enough people to run them. So my ancestor Näsi bought one of those farms, and that event changed his family name to Kaitera. Because at that time the farm name determined the family name in Western Finland. And that is the reason, why I got this family name 230 years later, when I was born. My father's family moved to Viipuri in 1938. During the Winter War (1939 - 1940) they had to move from there, because the Russian army was closing to Viipuri. My father was an officer in the Finnish army in 1947 - 1963. In early 50'ies he made a deal with a fisherman from Rauma. if the Soviet Union woild have attacked to Finland, my father would have transported my mother and me to Rauma and this fisherman would have taken us to the Swedish coast by his boat. My father would have stayed in Finland and fought against the Red army, but he was not optimistic about the outcome of that war. So I am certainly not sharing this view of Ritter, when he is describing NATO as the Embodiment of Stupidity. The three Baltic Countries and Finland didn't have other choice than join NATO, when Russia took the path to the bloody imperialism, which this country has chosen also several times earlier. Glory to Ukraine ! Glory to the heroes !

Well, we (also the Russians) have to realise, that the Russian economy is about same size as the ltalian one. So in that area Russia is not a very mighty country. Politically Russia has become more and more isolated. This isolation has been a consequence of the aggressive and imperialistic Russian policy, not a consequence for Russia's neighbours being russophobic. And Russia hasn't shined much in the military area either. After all Russia has tried to subdue Ukraine for more than 800 days and managed to get under control less than 20% of Ukraine. That is not a thing to bragg about. Russia managed to totally destroy Mariupol, Severodonetsk and Bakhmut cities, but that is certainly not enough to win for Russia a place among the superpowers. And opeating as a vassal to China doesn't make Russia a world ruler. Glory to Ukraine ! Glory to the heroes !

Everyone has their own slightly different program,, mearsheimer has sophisticated contacts in lots of places but he does represent the, I can't remember if he was precisely neoconservative or neoliberal but the point is,, his ultimate master is still wall street... even Scott is not up to being a socialist yet lol,, he and Lee Camp hold a lot of similar views however Lee is definitely hardcore socialist, like I am and Scott is a hardcore constitutionalist...

America and American’s have never experienced War , real war , fighting an enemy thousands of miles away is very different to having your homes bombed , your cities destroyed , no water no readerly available food and water . Getting by on ounces of food not pounds of meat and butter , unlimited coffee etc . Europe , the Middle East the UK and a number of Asian countries have all experienced this not once but for some twice . One would think people would not want this to happen again , but here we go again following the one Country who has never experienced real was at home hundreds of thousands of people dead dieing and maimed . Hundreds of thousands of homes destroyed , don’t they look at the pictures of dead and destruction in Gaza , Ukraine and other areas and think no , no , more . But again Americans have yet to experience real War but are happy to force it on others .
