Germany hasn't been saying much beacuse Russia has their balls. Germany gets most of their energy resources from Russia, natural gas and oil. Now ever since Germany made, I think the stupidity mistake of shutting down their nuclear power plants, the nation is now in a spirl energy crisis where they now heavly depend on Russia. That's why they haven't been much support over this crisis. If Russia shuts off the gas to Germany, the Germany economy would instantly collapse and so would the rest of the EU economy.

Germany is just in a weird position. They are a NATO nation but rely on a non-NATO nation (Russia,) for most of their gas. More than anything I bet Germany wants nothing to happen and just go on living their lives. If you try and look at the world without good guys or bad guys it is easier to make sense of things. All nations have their own agendas. Throughout history the expansion of empires has led to where we are today and aren't looked at as bad things although I'm sure the families who were killed and conquered might have said otherwise, Putin may not see taking Ukraine as a "bad" or "evil" thing. As a lifelong "Westener" I believe like most that any sovereign country has a right to choose their own fate however who knows which side is the right one? Hopefully there will be no side but if that were to become the case the right side 100 years from then will be determined by the victors

Ukraine would not need NATO support, if Russia was not taking Ukrain's lands. Russia took Crimea in 2014 and clearly doesn't want to stop there. It's not like NATO is comping to Ukraine tomorrow - you don't get NATO come to your country so easily. Ukraine needs to work and take number of steps over number of years to prove it self worthy NATO partner before NATO will consider accepting Ukraine into the block.

This was the reason of the secession of Lougansk and Donbass as well as the useless provocation by the Ukrainian government to forbide the use of the native language of several minority (including russian). If Present Ukrainian governement did want to solve peacefully the problem he would have negociated with the separatist republics rather than bomb them. Difference is that NATO only expands if there is very strong support it. And this support must be demonstrated over long period of years. It's not like NATO is gonna go to Ukraine tomorrow - there are still many steps that Ukraine will need to do in order to prove of a worthy ally in NATO. Meanwhile Russia moves it's solders anywhere without asking questions.

U.S is a country that have over 800 military base outside their border around the world and have a powerful Military presence around the world. Even most regular everyday American citizens don't know or realize just how big and large the U.S Military really actually is. In Europe currently right now the U.S have hundreds of Military bases: -25 U.S military base in United Kingdom. -4 U.S military base in Spain. -44 U.S military base in Italy. -119 U.S military base in Germany. In total 192 U.S military base that's well known of. Then theirs still hundreds of smaller Military facility through out Europe that's not listed as a actual Military base due to their extreme smaller size. For example in Poland U.S currently have a few of those small Military facility through out Poland with a few thousands of U.S troops currently station their working with and helping train Poland soldiers. The Poland Government are literally paying the U.S Government to have U.S troops station in Poland. Those few thousands of U.S troops that are currently station in Poland are the closest troops to the Ukraine situation right now and if conflict break out their the first to get send in. But in total through out Europe U.S currently have over 50,000 troops in Europe with most station in Germany. Russia on the other hand only have 12 Military base out side their border.

It is good to know that everybody is underestimating Germany's capabilities.

Canada produces lots of natural gas and we are currently negotiating with Germany to build a terminal there to export our gas. The US exports a ton of natural gas too. Might be tough in the weeks after if Russia closes the pipeline, but things will smooth out as European countries relying on natural gas will get their supplies from other places.
