@a HERO that doesn’t know what protect means As a guy who has little to no experience with the VTuber business with all their streams and whatnot, I don't care much about the particulars of character roleplay, moe, and all stuff related to that. One thing is for sure, though: a character, no matter how consistent, develops over time. Sure, there are VTubers that are 'consistent' from the beginning, but they weren't like who they were before once compared to who they are now. Experience and time changes them, though they might seem to have stayed the same as before. They have become more 'in character', just as they have become more passionate, hard-working, and confident in their ability to carry out their task to entertain both themselves and those who watch them in-stream. Bit by bit they give life to the character they portray, and we viewers slowly incorporate those tiny bits of character into our perception towards them, not even consciously realizing that their 'development' further deepens their 'consistency'. ...Or maybe I'm just rambling nonsense. Probably.

Matsuri in her first stream was using a lot more "keigo", the more formal and polite Japanese style of talking. Watashi is formal and polite, and you would not use it in casual speaking, as it would be seen as stiff and pretentious. So she is embarassed to hear herself like that.

@@tasin2776 they usually do if they want to sound polite or in general. However Matsuri is uncomfortable with how she used to say "watashi" because nowaday she refers to herself in 3rd person as "Matsuri" in a more relaxed and joking way as a way to interact more easily with her listeners

I know I find her reaction weird as she hasn't changed to much. She's just dirtier and that's not by much.
