The scene from 4:36 never fails to get me. Tanuma feels so deeply for natsume and can’t help blaming himself for being unable to do more. I love him so much 😢
One of the best anime couples around. I have a soft spot for friends who care a lot more and deeper than most friends in real life. I guess that's why people can't help but ship them. It's wonderful to find these rare relationships around- so it doesn't matter how you label them. If it's love, it's just love plain and simple... and that is romantic on its own~~ ^_^😍😍😍
I agree, honestly I think that platonic types of love are even more beautiful than romantic ones, as there is just this pure sense of care and respect in it, and I love it. Natsume and Tanuma are one of my absolute favourite friendships, they grow so much and I think Tanuma really helps Natsume get better at sharing things with others, in a way that is gentle and gives natsume space at the same time. He helps him realise that it's good to share things and to rely on others, but there are also times when he tells Natsume that it's okay not to talk if he doesn't want to, he even apologises that one time when a question of who natsume was talking to slipped out. Then in the newest episode they are just so healthy and supportive about the situation. Tanuma is willing to step back and stop doing what worries Natsume, but Natsume, who appreciated that Tanuma has accompanied him before, encourages him to go ahead with it, with him supporting and 'guarding' him, it even gives natsume a sense of how Natori must feel worrying about him, which is a nice insight. It's lovely, I'm so in love with how the characters in this series are written.

God I love them so much I watched this show like 4 ish years ago still has a strong place in my heart (love seeing more Natsume yujincho content.) I swear it has got to be one of the most wholesome yet bitter sweet funny tragic yet charming lil show. I felt like I was growing with Natsume and seeing him let people in as the show went on was beautiful. Telling Tanuma he saw youkai was a big step for him and seeing there bond grow deeper delighted my heart.
Thanks so much for making Natsume content! I got into the show over the summer, and it's been hard to find much. I can't wait for a good "Natsume out of context" compilation, because goodness, it has so many moments. XD

I love their friendship so much! It's really lovely seeing them get better at sharing things with eachother, Natsume becomes far more able to express things as time goes on, it warms my heart everytime.

TBH I really do ship them, but that's just my fantasy. On the other hand, it's just awesome to see such a nice friendship and I'm so happy Natsume has Tanuma and Taki.
Their friendship is so special to me, I really love that Natsume is a shoujo that doesn't have a romance and instead focuses on all of these beautiful plantonic connections that feel just as special, I really love how Natsume has so many people and yokai who care about him, it is so heartwarming🥺
@@a_me_1 😂 I've only started watching Natsume very recently so I was just trying to decide whether he had more chemistry with Tanuma, Natori or Matoba and your videos were just the slight push I needed. Also, in case it wasn't obvious already, I'm a fujo, so it doesn't take a lot of effort to convince me to ship someone, but Natsume has a very appealing harem so I can see why anyone would ship either of them, but I'm already on season 4 and I can see that his bond with Tanuma is very special 😉
The first few are season 3 episode 2. The next few from when Tanuma protects Natsume (0:57) onward is season 3 episode 10 and 11 . The rest ( 1:40 ) on is from the season 4 story in episode 6 and 7 😊
