This is a visual tutorial on how I make my all natural, gentle, cold process pet shampoo bars.
((One mistake I made on the video is that this makes twelve 8 oz bars. this batch recipe makes twelve 4.5 oz bars))
Ingredients for a 10 1/2" X 3" X 3" mold. (interior dimensions)
olive oil - 24 oz
coconut oil - 8 oz
Castor oil - 2 oz
Lye - 4.5 oz (Remember to wear your safety equipment)
Distilled water - 12.9 oz
Allow at least 4 weeks for shampoo bars to cure before use.
always good to cure bars in a well ventilated area.
Fragrance - Many essential oils are considered to be toxic to pets. These shampoo bars are intended to be used on a Horse. cedar wood is a derived essential oil from pine or spruce. please remember to do your research and check the toxicity before adding essential oils to your own batch.
0.5 oz cedar wood essential oil
0.5 oz geranium essential oil
Veterinary Medical Association lists the following essential oils as toxic. This is not an exhaustive list. The essential oils are listed alphabetically and not in order of toxicity.

Pennyroyal; American false pennyroyal (Haedeoma pulegioides)
Pine, spruce, juniper oils

This cold process soap making process is intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. (Results may vary).
Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which could be harmful to the lungs and eyes and could cause burns. Before attempting any cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.
