It’s better to cater to your hair porosity type first. Most new naturals so eager to see their curls or coils. Your hair has an already defined curl pattern. My hair started curling up soon as I started chopping lol so I don’t need much product. I been natural since 2017. Cater to your porosity and texture not so much the curl/coil pattern. Because most type 4 women will lead you astray because I been through it. GOOD LUCK 🫶🏽

Try either Uncle Funky Daughter's Curly Magic for light hold curl definition, or Aunt Jackie Don't Shrink for more hold. My hair is 4b/4c and I was able to get both to work with adding definition to my curl pattern. Also, you can experiment with adding product on damp hair vs soak and wet hair to see if it makes a difference in your curl definition. Congrats on the big chop!

I did my big chop 1 year post relaxer, I did relaxed mu hair since 2004 till 2023, and I miss my natural hair
