After all these years, the fact that I gave this rap game all I had, all my heart and soul, and never came close to making it, crushes me, it crushed my dreams. BUT nothing upsets me more than the fact that Adam Bomb never blew up on the mainstream. You are truly a legend, a man with the caliber of Jay-z who was underrated and overlooked and it's a shame.
I too spent several years in the music industry. It took a lot out of me. Too many shallow souls for my liking. Very superficial. I grew, and became Muslim, alhamdulillah. Now I don't really listen to music at all. Occasionally, I search for music from old friends and acquaintances from Toronto. I worked with Adam and Tona a little, way back when. Their music is incredible. Real hiphop, real souls.
Rest assured this city has contributed to hiphop since day 1. Ppl don't know the history nd the emcees, writers, breakers, dj's that came out of here before us. Toronto has always been hiphop. Nd Americans were biting OUR culture from time cuz we always had that island vibe in our DNA. Anyway... ur love of the art nd for the scene isn't for nothin. Not everyone can pop but tough competition builds champions. U get me?
