Learn how to make our all-natural "Haven't the Foggiest" soap coloured naturally with indigo powder! This original soap is unscented, but features swirls and layers to create a storm-like appearance. It also contains kaolin clay, which is great for absorbing extra oils from your skin, leaving it clean and fresh-feeling!
We'll include the recipe below in case you'd like to take on this soapy DIY project!
This soap features some more advanced elements, such as infusing oils with natural colourants and pouring one colour of soap into the other for a drop swirl. If you're looking to take on a cold process soap DIY project, this soap is ideal for intermediate to advanced soap makers.
Pretty, all-natural and extra clarifying because of the kaolin clay, these soaps are perfect to remind you of nature's beauty! This soap would also be a perfect gift for someone who's sensitive to fragrances, as it's unscented.
This recipe is vegan, as it uses only plant-based oils and colorants.
=================
HAVEN'T THE FOGGIEST SOAP RECIPE
Tall and skinny loaf mold
40% olive oil (up to 1/4 infused with indigo, if desired)
40% coconut oil
10% sweet almond oil
5% cocoa butter
5% castor oil
Appropriate lye amount (please use a soap calculator!)
Distilled water (for lye solution)
1-2 tablespoons kaolin clay per kg oils
Indigo powder (to use in the 3 bottom layers) *
=================
For our Haven't the Foggiest soap, we use about 2 teaspoons indigo powder per kilo of oils in the darkest layer, 1 teaspoon per kilo in the next layer, and 1/2 teaspoon per kilo in the lightest. Using more than 2 teaspoons per kilo of oils can cause the colour to bleed onto towels and so on, so it's not recommended.
