Nature Journaling and Birding 

I watched several of your YT videos about nature journaling earlier today, then immediately thought I need to get started doing that when I was driving home from running errands and saw several crows circling near our house. They usually hang around but I don’t typically see them circling. Then a large black bird…I think it was a turkey vulture flew up out of the ditch, right in front of my car, with a dead red racer snake in its beak. It was the most amazing sight! It happened so quickly I couldn’t get a picture of it. The snake was about 4’ in length and the bird had a different flight and slightly narrower and longer wings that were not totally black like the crows. If I had sketched a vulture before hand I could have been more sure of what I saw.
