Marley, you did an excellent job of articulating many of the challenges that one can encounter when nature sketchbook journaling. I could completely relate to the paralysis you described when one has created an eye pleasing sketch and then is afraid of ruining the page with a sketch that might not turn out as well. I love your tip about knowing what one's intention is. That can keep things moving. Thank you!
If I put two carabiners on it I can connect it to my waistband and it works well even with my NJ bag. If I only have one carabiner it dangles on one side, which works alright, that is what I was doing in this video and I schlepped in on the whole hike and it was not that bad. This was not my smallest chair though, I have a smaller one but did not bring it on this trip.
