This film tells about how the project for the return of the Persian leopard to the Caucasus began.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the leopard could still be found in remote mountain gorges. But people were steadily advancing on the mountains. The royal peace of the cautious cat was disturbed, and the leopards left the Caucasus. To return leopards to the Caucasus Mountains, a Leopard Breeding and Rehabilitation Center was established near the city of Adler on the territory of the Sochi National Park. On eleven hectares on the slope of Mount Kepsha, a complex system of various types of enclosures, cages, and transitions was built. In 2009, two wild-caught males were brought to the Center from Turkmenistan. And in 2010, in Iran, in the Kopetdag mountains, two females were caught for the Leopard Breeding Center. From them, offspring will appear, which will be released into the wild. The experiment is going hard. And yet there is hope that the efforts will not be in vain. And the eternal guest of the Caucasus Mountains will settle here again. For years of work in the Center twenty kittens were born. Six of them were released into their natural habitat.
