We are pleased to present our documentary entitled Nature x Humanity. The documentary debuts at a critical juncture when the anthropomass-the mass produced by humans-has exceeded that of the living biomass on our planet. Through the lens of five projects and their related material systems, we propose five tenets for a new Material Ecology: glass, polymers, fibers, pigments, and cellular solids. Motivated to unite the grown and the made, we demonstrate how each material system and the technology invented to shape it embodies and advances Nature’s way while continuing to promote human progress.

Been a massive follower of Neri's work for a long time but watching the content Oxman puts out is just so inspiring. It is not just the work she does but the story that's being told. The perspective of her work as a mother in building a better future for her daughter makes the entire film created so engaging. Her voice, the composition of the words, and the organic visuals are so enticing that this proposed future seems to be a reality. I am so glad to be a part of this generation and to be an industrial designer in this age to witness the Da Vinci of today's generation.

Thank you for the wonderful ideas and questions arising from your work. As an architect, these subjets are our daily questions and not all of our clients are willing to walk in this direction. Hopefully we will get there, before is too late.

I think that bioconstruction is the way that human and nature can connect each other, for the material (earth) exist in abundance because the techniques for example mud brick, rammed earth, bamboo, etc .. you can work on that better, it´s more accessible for people and in your case you can use termites for make walls too.

Brilliant. Hopeful. What can the layman do to help make these ideas come to life? How can we shift the value of maximizing monetary profits by any means, even destroying life itself in the process, to building wealth through co-creating with nature. I look forward to seeing these concepts applied to consumable products. Thank you for dedicating your life to this work.

I can’t wait to see what comes next in construction and design my thoughts is more mass timber ( my favorite type of construction material) and heavy use of galvanized steel structures and rebar for use in concrete.

Now, like all of these cool sustainable/nature/bio freak ideas. How will maintenance and affording this work? Looking at everything from a distance. Production will take forever, cost a fortune and will probably cost even more to replace a damaged part. Cool concept though.

What you don’t understand is that we don’t have to design anything, we don’t have to bend reality to our models of it, rather we should go and look at the existing building blocks and listen to what the implicit role is that we can take in that system. We are the only ones out of harmony, if we would stop talking so much and start to listen again, the answer of how to align our needs with the needs of all around us would be painfully obvious. It is not ours to reimagine everything, it is ours to blend in to the existent beautiful image.

Thank you! I am overwhelmed with a very different feelings. Inspired and deeply passionate with your approach to design the Life. To appreciate every life beeing and it's contribution on whole system functionality - thats crucial to integrate into the humanity values ierarchy. Meanwhile we face the lack of basic primary education around the Globe multiplied by overpopulation. Alltogether with the dominate values of capitalist system generates zombie-world we live in today.

Not sure if a Kuka robot 3D printing with molten glass is going to get us out of climate change and massive environmental meltdown. It seems like more of the techno-solutionism that got us here in the first place. Great for the robot industry though.. maybe Westworld isn't actually so far off! Not to say that it doesn't look super cool and futuristic, but it might distract a bit from the real scalable lower-tech solutions that and aren't as sexy.
