I would love a sci-fi naughty dog game. They really need to expand

I mean they were kind of consider just the uncharted studio till last of us. And the formula for uncharted to last of us is like 90%. this is not Titanfall2 to Fallen Order where these are radical different games. This is demonsouls to darksouls, your buying 90% what you already bought a played but a different trademark names over the top. Which may also be leading to why this generation feels like a wash, majority of the games have the "wait havn't i already played this game" feel because you kind of have already played it and played it a lot.

His testing the market's reaction to the idea of a part 3. Of course they want to make it desperately, after all it's the most profitable game their studio can potentially make, but the controversy of part 2 may have already damaged the franchise too much, so he has to test it to find out more about the risk.

Am I the only one happy they decided to cancel the live service last of us game? Everyone seemed disappointed but they are not known for making live service games and the current climate is everyone not wanting live service since there is already a shit ton out.

I understand its easier to have a sequel to great games. Its (sometimes) easier to market and it can come with bigger sales but would like so see Naughty Dog move onto new IPs and flex their creative muscles a bit more.

I remember feeling a certain pressure to get a ps5 because if i didn't i'd miss out on all the amazing games. i've had my ps5 for like 2 years now i think and i've yet to feel like i got my moneys worth. and there is already rumours of a ps6.

for me i'd looove a small game from Rockstar before the end of the 2020s like a Bully 2 or Manhunt 3 then a much bigger game like a pirate game or medieval one

Also, if people played Uncharted the lost legacy, they set up a perfect sequel with Nadine and Chloe as the main characters. it's almost like they pretending that game doesn't exist though.

Feel like an Uncharted sequel with the daughter would feel to much like a Tomb Raider game, but a Last of Us part 3 with a happy ending for Ellie would be welcome though.

Spider-man 2 is the only game so far that feels next gen and really just because of the scale of the opening level. Swinging into the destroyed city seamlessly from the open world really did feel like something special. But other than that, I have felt this gen has been a disappointment with the hardware.

I feel like The Last of Us should have been like the Life is Strange titles, where they are different stories but still are connected to the same world. I feel like it would have been cool to see how people are dealing with life and the choices they make like how the first one was with Joel still dealing with his daughters death and getting closer to Ellie making him do what he did in the Hospital, but now I feel like its kinda too late because now when people mention The Last of Us its just Ellie and whoever is left in the series, so if they change now I dont think it will land well, and Part 2 does seem like an ending to Ellie, so I guess we'll see what he has in mind.

Neil needs to sit down, reevaluate some things and hire an editor who has the balls to say, "No, that's a bad idea, don't do that."

The last of us could be their main IP for many decades if they could continue the good stories. Now just they gonna release part 2 on pc with the TV show and part 3 . They will make money but the IP had potential for much more .

Good. Sooner the better. No hate against those games, but throughout the lifespan of the franchise, I have only ever bought 1 copy of each game (LoU Remastered on the PS4 was the first one I played cause I started late) and only then bought last of Us 2 on ps4 and didn't buy another version of either game since. It's been their two game cash cow for a while time for something else

I’m so done with the last of us. I want the show to be it. Cool concept but the realism got old fast. I really want to see a science fiction game from them or a cowboy game from someone who isn’t rockstar. All would be cool. Pirate game would go so hard tho.

I would like them to focus on one franchise at a time like they used to. So if they want to make Part 3, I'd prefer it to be their next game and then move on to something new.

Real ones will know that Naughty Dog are really not the Last of Us studio, but the Crash Bandicoot Studio.

With the success of the TLOU TV show, you KNOW Naughty Dog is gonna be on The Last of Us WELL into the PS6 generation. Sony likes $$$ and prestige, REGARDLESS OF WHATEVER NEIL SAYS (or tries to say) in order to placate Naughty Dog fans who are, rightly upset ND hasn't had a new game since 2020 (TLOU2 on PS4) and it's been remasters and remakes ever since, with no new games for the PS5. Frankly, if I were a shareholder I'd be VERY upset one of Sony's best first-party studios hasn't released ANYTHING new for the PS5 besides remasters / remakes and a failed / cancelled live-service game (they NEVER should have been tasked with making). As an Uncharted fan, who also likes TLOU... I'm DONE with The Last of Us. The TLOU games are impressive, but FAR TOO DOUR / DEPRESSING / HEAVY / OFTEN PRETENTIOUS to replay. Naughty Dog could have easily stopped with TLOU1 and I'd have been just fine. Meanwhile, Uncharted, which is fun, adventure escapism, I can replay (and have replayed the entire franchise) multiple times per year.

I agree with Luke, the last of us 2 was a (technically impressive) mistake, and I hope they move onto a science fiction or fantasy setting because I would like to see what they could pull off in a different genre. (or bring back jak and daxter)

I would have been fine with them ending the series after part 1, but now that they made part 2 they HAVE to make another game after how part 2 ended.

I've never considered them the last of us studio. But they defiantly have been milking that gameplay loop dry. 15 straight years puzzle, loot, shoot. Frankly it was stale by the time TLOU came out.

I’m sure we will get part 3 eventually, which I’m sure will be great, but I’m so excited for a new IP from naughty dog. Much like Rockstar, they shake the industry every time they release a new title, so whatever this new IP may be, bring it on!

Luke - I never wanted part 2. But now that we have a part 2 that I hated (minus gameplay, mechanics and graphics) anyway. Now that we have a part 2 I’d like to a part 3 if it’s something part 1 fans can love. I didn’t like the show either. Maybe Nevermind.
