Брат brought me here, and I would like to say, even though that the only word I understood was где, I absolutely love this song. Beautiful. Thanks so much Russia.
You take your evening dress off, facing the wall, I can see scrapes on the smooth skin of your back, I would like to cry from pain or get lost in a dream, Where are your wings, that I used to like so much? Where are your wings, that I used to like so much?x2 In the past we had more time, now we have things to do, to prove that the strong devour the weak, to prove that ash is white, we all have lost something in this senseless war, by the way, where are your wings, that I used to like so much? Where are your wings, that I used to like so much?x2 I don't care how much money you have, don't care how many husbands you had, I can see your fear of open windows and high floors, and if tomorrow a fire arises and the entire building catches fire, we will die without those wings, that I used to like so much Where are your wings, that I used to like so much?x

There was a Nautilus Pompilius music video that had a darker look and it's song sounded more mellow (almost middle-eastern). It showed what looked like some kind of prison or industrial setting. I remember the camera often showed the back of a man's head and sometimes it showed the singer's face beside the man's head as though he were influencing him. At some point, during a shot of the singer, the frame rate started to get choppy and then there was a second image superimposed over the face of the singer (possibly a skull). The singer never looked at the camera and in fact he was always looking away from the camera at a lower angle three-quarter profile. I don't know what this song is called and the video was deleted years ago (I think) and I cannot find the same music video. If anyone knows what the song that I am talking about is, please tell me! I really want to see it again.
the song and the video is so f***ing good. why is it it's only people from the former eastern block that are capable of doing such beautiful videos, music and films?
(this is an almost literal translation with a few tweaks to preserve the rhythm of the song, i.e. you can sing this lyrics to the original chords) You're taking off an evening dress silently, facing the wall, and the scars on your velvety back are too fresh not to notice them all. So hurt that I want to cry out, fall asleep and be numb to the touch. Where are you wings now? the ones that I liked so much?... refrain: Where are you wings now your wings that I liked so much?...(x2) We used to have time that was ours Now we prove what they mean: that the strong one simply devours the weak, and that 'dirty' means 'clean'. We've all lost so much or so little in this mind altering war where are you wings, so brittle, yet the ones that could take us so far? refrain I'm not asking how rich you are now, nor if you are married. Tonight I'm feeling your fear of open windows and top floors, and your fear of flight yet, if tomorrow a fire begins and this house goes down in flame we will die, if you don't have your wings the ones that I love all the same.
See Russian action-adventure/social commentary, "Brother" with Sergei Bodruv. Comic thread when the main character a hit man AND good samaritan is on a mission to find "Wings" by Nautilus.
This song is magnificent, it definitely deserves more than 280k views. It deserves at least 40mil views, I hope at least .006% of this world has a great taste in music.
Hello Russian natives/ speakers! I am learning Russian, and I am looking for music to listen to. If I like this, what other Russian bands might I like? I am also a fan of Vladimir Vysotsky. Help would be much appreciated! :D
I know it's old. Love this song. For those interested, here are german and english translations. Helps to understand the depth of the lyrics. EN: Facing the wall You take off your slimming dress, I see fresh scars on your velvety skin, I want to weep with pain, Or forget myself in a dream, Where are your wings that I liked so much, Where are your wings that I liked so much (2x). We used to have time, Now we have work to do, Prove that the strong eat the weak, Prove that the ashes are white. We have all lost something, In this insane war, By the way - where are your wings that I loved so much, Where are your wings that I loved so much (2x). I don't ask how much money you have, Don't ask how many men you have. I see you're afraid of open windows, And of upper floors. And if a fire breaks out tomorrow, And the whole building will be in flames, We will die, Without the wings I loved so much. Where are your wings that I loved so much (2x).
continue We all lost something in this fanatical war.By the way where are your wings that i liked so much. Where are your wings that I liked so much. Where are your wings that I liked so much. I am not asking how much money you have or how much husbands do you have. I can see you scared of open windows and store building. What if tomorrow fire starts fire and whole building collapses in fire.We will die without those wings that I liked do much Where are your wings that I liked so much.
do you perhaps have any thoughts or interpretations of this poem? .. are they referring to an actual war that happened then (god knows Russia had it's fair share) or something more personal between them? something metaphorical ... ? to be honest.. understanding this poem is quite important to me. i have begun thinking about it a lot myself. but you guys know this song for a lot longer than i do - i defer to your wisdom.
