To say you only scratched the surface is an understatement. (Right clicking allows to actually aim btw!). Some aspects of the game are poor (especially the OW and economy) and the devs are eratic and have released patches in the past that have broken the game. They even dumbed the combat down and simplified it to try to attract more players which proved disastrous. When they did get the balance right however, the combat was probably the best I have played in ANY game ever! Every individual canon ball is tracked and each sail exerts wind force and can be turned to adjust speed and turning. There are different ammos, de-masting, fires, leaks, collisions, crew loss, hull armor and sail damage etc etc. It was a thing of such tactical complexity with a seemingly limitless skill ceiling, it was beautiful. It should have been a classic in PC mmos but the devs blew it with mad updates and OP DLC. They are however currently in a repair phase and have begun to reintroduce that complexity. While the current iteration is playable, many of us are waiting with fingers crossed for the latest (and apparently final) patch, due in the next few weeks. If they get it right, I would highly recommend trying it further.
