Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the FA18 Hornet flying against TRON in the SU33 Flanker in a BVR fight (Thanks for the help buddy), Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.
My PC Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
GPU: Geforce RTX 2080ti
RAM: DDR4 Corsair 3200 MHz 32 GBB (total of 4 sticks so 128 GB in total)

Really enjoyed that one, including the explanation of the mistakes on both sides. Not only did it feel more realistic to not be playing with mountains, but the mistakes on both sides (and you capitalizing on them) felt more realistic. Well done!

I think this video really illustrates the importance of proficiency. If you don't FULLY understand your aircraft's capabilities and weapon employment options, then you'll look a lot like Longshot or his adversary today in that they don't main either of their respective aircraft. As a fan of the channel the fight was fun to watch but as a hornet main.. let's just say that flanker would have died a lot sooner into the video haha. Definitely recommend maining one airframe and constantly exploring it's abilities if you want to play competitive in this game.

That was an awesome fight! A BVR fight with zero cover and they still merged! Great fight by both pilots. Excellent job staying present and taking advantage of an opportunity, Longshot (and figuring out what that splash was and what it meant)! Sidenote; I love the way that SU 33 looks with the canards and camo.

SCS right will auto lock a contact with the cross or + sign over them, you don't have to move the cursor over the contact and TDC depress it.

On your merge turn you were only pulling 6.5 g’s. You could have disabled the g limiter (paddle switch) and whipped the Hornet around on a dime with a fox-2 😁 Awesome video nevertheless! I only fly the Hornet so I love seeing it! 🐝

Had a buddy in the air wing and he said they had a pilot that popped overstress codes 3 times in like 3 months. He called in the code and when he landed the XO met him on flight line with a speed handle telling him to start pulling panels for the airframe inspection. He had to buy beer for the prior incidents.

LongShot that was AWESOME ! SweeeeeT , Jam Up Job :) Really good job in the Hornet & also just love the Transonic sound's of the F-18c. Explaining your Intentions & Rapping it up with an Awesome Finish was Just Great. I thought for sure that you had him on Gun's but just a little late. Also, lately I've Noticed that bogeys on Intercept is either not showing up at all on a 2b-140 Deg. @80Nm. Through Awax seems to be my only option, sometimes. Or at the last minute it will pick up the Bandit. IDK but Stellar Job. Just AWESOME! Ty aka Rags!

Why am I always seeing a Su-33 equipped with R-77 missiles in DCS? To my knowledge only the Su-35, Su-30's and some versions of Su-27's, Mig 29's and Mig 31's can fire that missile, if I'm wrong someone let me know.

You are correct, however it seems as if Russia's only carrier is beyond repair at this point and they will not be buying the K. India is replacing their Ks with Rafale-Ms, so the only operator will soon be retiring it. The Fulcrum's days are numbered, considering how many will get chewed up in Ukraine and how many are simply retired over the next few years.

I think you can try TDC depress to offset the radar beam scan centre or long press TDC depress to enable spotlight mode in hornet. That would be very helpful that you don't have to be nose hot in order to scan the bendit.

In reality, the Su-33 can only carry half its full load of armament when taking off from a carrier.

Ask the United States Navy Public Affairs Office, which they will ask why are you asking... and make a note of your particulars/open a file. Questions like that are OpSec territory, the real answer/time is something our enemies would like to know... especially the Chinese.

With the number of RU-vid videos showing launches and recoveries, I doubt it is that much of a secret. I saw one recently from the POV of a F-18 cockpit where 4 launched in about 10 to 15 minutes, I believe it was, and they didn't seem to be in a hurry.

@@debbiestimac5175 it's simple, sometimes you can see how some players create such combinations that several hundred machines are flying at each other and out of curiosity I was wondering how long it would take an aircraft carrier to send all the machines. Sometimes there are such missions that you have to defend the aircraft carrier, and the number of planes in the air determines whether the mission will succeed. Of course, this applies to the game. Besides, I hope that what is shown as American equipment in DCS is actually already a reserve of real forces and my question will not shake the power of the US Navy :)

People have to remember that the F/A-18 was always a compromise, not dedicated air superiority. Longshot is fighting in a very dangerous arena, no mountains to hide in, his situational awareness, how he talks through a problem is the thing we all should be taking away from this scenario. Work the problem, never succumb to frustration.
