I started a new hobby about a year ago, watercolour painting. It is probably one of the things I enjoy the most these days, guess much like your gardening. Yet the last few weeks I have become so frustrated by my lack of skill and not getting to where I "should" be. I actually said to myself exactly what you said in the beginning. "Why am I stressing and getting frustrated", it is because I want to impress others with my newfound skill, but yet that takes the joy out of it. Just painting and letting be what will be. It should be something for yourself and not to impress others.

I enjoyed the first portion of the video so much! I am so guilty of doing that, of feeling this need to "perform" for other people. I love the way your videos have evolved and getting to ride on the wave of your personal growth, it helps me so much. I'm 24 and it's so easy to be caught up in following the trends when your friends does, both in fashion but also in regards to body image and confidence etc. Thank you for sharing all of this with us. Great vlog Lydia. I was very lucky my grandmother was way ahead of her time. She told me never give 100% of yourself to someone. That way you won’t get totally hurt if you get let down. Plus you get out of this life what you put in. You are in control/charge of yourself no one can do this for you. No body is perfect so don’t try to be. Just try to be the best version of yourself. No one of us is better than the other. 👍🥰

Soo nice to hear you talk about the importance of running for you self, to make you feel good. Booth i body and soul. I bern running for almost 30 years and I have always been running for me. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes I go fast sometimes I go slow, don't really matters. Sometimes it is really hard to just go out the door, especially in winter. Keep up the good work!!

I'm married to a man that's always been good at everything. Sports wise.. especially water skiing because we live in Florida everybody skis.. and he's so good at everything that it makes me feel like I have to be too when I was younger.. and you're right.. one day you just wake up and say life is not a competition but a journey and it's what I enjoy.. and I do everything at my own pace.. and it makes me so happy

Dear Lydia, I always put a little bit of gravel when planting plants in the pots. About 1cm so that the excess water can easily go through the soil. Also, ash from wood fire is good when you put it around plants, snails wont touch them then.

In America, Garlic Mustard is considered an invasive. I do use it for cooking early in the spring when it is most tender, but mostly I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle as it spreads so quickly.

I live in Northern Michigan and we have a lot of garlic mustard and it is extremely invasive. We are encouraged to pull it out as it crowds out everything else. May not be a problem there but you might want to check.

Lydia, I love that you incorporate hints of your spiritual side on here whether you mean to or not. Spirituality does not equal religion but what one puts in the center of their life; love, peace , gratitude, compassion, generosity, respect for Mother Earth, etc. I do wonder what the cost of making these videos has been on your soul. Native Americans and many cultures across the world believe a camera captures more than an image or moment. Surely sharing bits of your soul with thousands takes a toll. Excellent message, Lydia. I think, to even pare this thought process down another level, you are speaking about finding validation from the approval of those observing you. So, in essence, we need to stop seeking the validation of others. In doing so, we give people around us the permission to determine our worth and value, not to mention how draining it can be to spend your life trying to be impressive to others. Good work! Hello Lydia… not sure you will see this comment but still thought it would be good to share. I am a 49 year old Christian/American/Latina/Wife/Mother/Mother in law. I enjoy your content though I don’t relate or share in all your opinions or lifestyle choices. I am noticing that as your growing older your more in touch with what you like and don’t like…also you share that your not so self conscious about other people’s opinions of you,etc. Honestly this is what happens for most if not all of us…we start to become more confident and less concerned about others negative opinions and we stop apologizing for being ourselves and choosing to believe and live as we find is best as we grow older. In other words… let’s all just take a deep breath and know that we cannot stop the hands of time and so let’s try our best to enjoy all the seasons we get to live through. 🤍🙏🏻🤍

I make rhubarb lemonade every summer. Boil then simmer a bunch of stalks. Strain and add a bit of lemon and sugar. I also take small cut up pieces of rhubarb and roll in sugar and drop them in my glass sometimes.

This sounds wonderful! I have a rhubarb plant that was grafted special for my grandma by her neighbor, and dates back maybe 50 years or so. It has been moved 3 times, and after each move I have to make sure I pull early and often to keep the "brain active" as we used to say. I love making sauce, honey, rhubarb, and lemon cordial, and a cake from Zoe Francois, Zoe Bakes Cakes book. I will need to try your lemonade with the harvest from this weekend.

Loved first 8 minutes, Lydia and you were not "waffling" at all. I think this realisation comes with age and experience. I do not care a bit what people think when I run/jog/power walk. In fact, dear Lydia - NOBODY gives ONE😆 - trust me, people seeing you run either just register you running or not (nobody has time to actually stop and judge you). People tend to think about themselves and everyone is busy these days, in their own thoughts, etc. I run because I feel happy afterwards and it helps me stay fit and slim but there are days when I have to drag myself and end up power walking but then I add my weighted vest (5kg) - I look like FBI in it a bit🙈😆 but again, it's me thinking that, nobody actually told me that!😆 Keep on running!❤

Hi Lydia! Celtic salt will help a lot, especially if you get headaches. It’s basically natures electrolyte supplement. In the summer most of all it’s a god send. Also - hope you don’t run without any food in the stomach, it’s the worst thing for a woman.

The plant you have in back yard is known as garlic mustard in the states and originates from Africa and Asia . Unfortunately it’s invasive and can cause damage to local biodiversity which especially can affect butterfly population. Try to keep some in a specific area of your yard and maybe plant some butterfly friendly plants to balance it out. I have just discovered this plant last year in my backyard understory of our woodland as well but only discovered it was edible this year!

Hi Lydia 😊 I had the same issues with my training journey in the past to show others I know what I am doing... I used to be sucks at running 😂 and with time which took me 5 years I learnt to enjoy to run and last year I did my first race of 13k in Jersey Island. Last month I ran my first 15km during my training took me 2hours and I am a slow runner at the end of the day who cares 😃 I learn my capacity without the approuval or to please people after an accomplishment if you know what I mean 😊 We are all unique of who we are. We are living in different pace in our lives that the beauty of life it's to enjoy to learn what we may love or not 😇 PS: I really like your watch which brand it is please 😇 PSS: Awesome the sheep is ok 😃 Take care 😊

If you are finding that your plants are being nibbled by slugs. Get some copper tape and put around the top of your plant pots. They really don't like it. It is double sided.. This helped me. X
