I'm a Black American born and raised. I do not have parents from a Black immigrant background. I was raised on Hollywood. I have completely dumped Hollywood at this point and I mostly watch Nollywood films, series, and shows. Also, a growing number of ethnically born and raised Black Americans are watching Nollywood. In short, you are too hard on yourselves in this interview. You have a lot of great acting talent in Nollywood. I think it is more than what you think. A lot of your actors are top notch actors that can hold their own with actors in the US, UK, etc...You are getting more caught up with "is it a big production" or "on the big screen" like a Hollywood film vs. "is it good story telling". Films like "Woman King" broke even and didn't even hit 100 million worldwide. Nowhere on the level of some of the mainstream US productions . Hollywood has turned into a political and social liberal agenda pushing narratives propaganda machine vs. good story telling. Hollywood is not how it used to be and many Americans are preferring original movies from streaming services. Also, Black Hollywood is basically non existent. It's like we took several steps back. The new thing is placing a single Black person in an IR cast . Black stories with Black casts are hardly being told anymore. This is where Nollywood shines.

I met Daniel at Still Falling theatrical release in Abuja with Sharon Ooja. He was so nice and you could tell he is a kind soul. Watching this just made me have extra respect for this actor. He will go to a lot of places! I especially love how passionate he is about being a man of faith and how he respects his marriage. These are the kind of stories we singles need to hear to encourage us because the bad stories are madeaux!! 😃 You could tell that the hosts were hit with goosebumps when he told stories about his marriage 😅 We need more young men like these tbh.

53:45 I love this episode, I just stumbled on this podcast and I’m already a fan. Daniel hit the nail concerning leadership and I can’t say I’m surprised he is very intentional about his work, family and life in general. I can tell by the way he moves on social media and his work. I’m a big fan of nollywood and respect their work. The movie we consume in 2 hours takes them weeks even months to finish. It’s so easy to criticize from the outside because we are not on the field with them. Yes, they have more work to do but they will gradually get there with the help of investors. Let’s continue to encourage our nollywood industry. If you know how foreigners love nollywood, you won’t take it for granted. I didn’t appreciate our movies until I relocated. Now I can’t stop watching nollywood movies on RU-vid and Netflix. Kudos to you all, let’s keep the conversation going🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

That statement of “If you get married because you are genuinely at the stage shows” is spot on! You’ll literally be dedicated and respectful and the fantasies of the streets won’t excite you no matter your past or temptations. They’ll come but you’ll be willing to put in the work. A home that starts out of pressure will be more difficult to work on.
