The shame is that 60 years after Independent when both Ghana and Nigeria have produced tens of thousands of educated professionals , engineers , architects and so on we are still having problems with electrical supply and water and we are totally dependent on foreign companies for Internet , cell phone service and major infrastructure construction . I am a Nigerian currently living in the US and I went to University in Nigeria with many engineering and architecture students many of whom have left the country!!

Yes: because we have done with our sentimental tribalistic tendencies leading to not getting our leadership right. Not getting our leadership right is a recipe for instability, mass migration, and continuous underdevelopment.

Intresting Point made, that we could be Billionaires but all they have to do is unplug that Internet Cord. Suddenly no access to funds 😅

I'm very familiar. I was in Ghana for 7 weeks. My card was taken by ATM machine twice because the internet went out in the middle of the transaction. I traveled by bolt and didn't have cash to get home.. yes, I experienced all the things that you mentioned. I'm traveling back in May to August as a Artist in Residence, volunteering to teach music at a school in Ho, Volta Region

This is a bit spooky because most governments are trying to move to a cashless system. I just believe God's word is coming to pass with it becoming a "One World" system. With that said, I love how you spoke about Ghana's resilience during such an inconvenience. Black/African folk are survivors!!! We keep it moving💪🏾🇬🇭🇳🇬🇬🇭

Having living in Ghana for a while now water, electricity and now internet issues have been a major pain. The government is useless. It takes spiritual to live in Alkebulan.

You guys' are coming to West Africa in the days of cell phones and internet which are mostly run by foreign companies .As a Nigerian who grew up in the 1970s in Nigeria I remember the days when as most West African countries moved into Independence, the Infrastructure left by the British started to breakdown from lack of maintenance ! Constant power cuts and water rationing were the order of the day !! I still remember the days before cell phones when we had to depend on land lines run by our respective governments , phones were off more than they were on !!! So you guys are spoilt believe me, for those of us who grew up in the 1970s and on we know right now is heaven!!!

Very poignant discussion really. Three for one. #1 The dangers of reliance on foreign ISPs. #2 The dangers of a cashless society when power or networks fail. I for one, will definitely always be keeping some cash on hand. After a few days of total disconnect, we'd start to see some real desperation without cash. #3 The importance of off-grid power. Also, we're all able to adapt to the heat really. It's just a decision. After no aircon for a month or so, the body adapts. I truly plan to minimize aircon use. 😅 It's pretty wasteful, and after light, it's the next highest global electricity expenditure (rapidly growing)

Wow. I am planning to retire in Ghana and live in Aburi Hills. Can solar panel be added to and individual Condo? Love the content. So glad you are up and running smoothly
@GhanaBound
@GhanaBound 5 месяцев назад
Yes, solar can be added. If you're going to build from scratch, let your architect know as he/she may change the orientation of the building to maximise your solar potential. Thank you for watching 👀 .

If I was in Ghana, I would have a used I3 EV, enough solar panels on my roof to battery store for my home and to daily charge my I3. No need for petrol 4:59 when you can make your own fuel.
@GhanaBound

Love this idea, you would also need starlink or similar service for consistent Internet,enough cash to pay at least 70% of the book value of the car regardless of how much you actually paid for it in duties at the port + clearing fees.

Some African countries you can pay using your phone or tap your card for electricity they should use back-up solar investors and generators are being used in SA
