Yo it's me, I made a Super Mario 64 Iceberg video and now I've made one on The Legend of Zelda. I’ve seen this image around the Internet and thought it would be great to cover. Especially since there aren't 5 layers in this iceberg but rather 8 layers, and the theories in this iceberg are from various Zelda games. So let’s get into it.

I mean a lot of them are valid questions. Why do the Zora have breasts if they clearly don’t need to use them? It’s theorized that they only have them because one of the three goddesses (Forgot which one) created Hylians, Gorons, Rito, Gerudo, Zora and other races in their own image. But other than that there isn’t really a good reason other than... it’s hot? The butt baby thing and Link being a boob guy though... they’ve gotta be jokes. (Link is obviously an ass guy)

I think it's that, Gilbert (Mario) could conceivably be absolutely horrifying in a different context, but the context of the video and Sunflower's channel as a whole is what made it goofy. Gerbert (Link) honestly just looks goofy, no matter the context.

So I'm the dumb bastard who actually made this iceberg. I've even got the original .xcf on my hard drive. Pretty shocked and pleased to see a whole video on it, especially since I just watched your Mario iceberg video last week, and I only posted this image maybe two or three times. Feel kinda guilty about including some of the vague / silly stuff but you got almost everything right, I even learned a few things. I can clarify some of the stranger stuff if you want.

I didn't intend for any layer to have all the goofy sexual stuff, it's probably just a coincidence after I re-arranged some things; I was worried that some of the more hardcore fans would criticize the original version for having certain things like "BEN DROWNED" be too deep This iceberg was mainly inspired by the Elder Scrolls Lore iceberg which is my favorite. It's the reason why this one consists of so many goofy / meme entries which I sort of regret. I've actually been working on a text-based breakdown of the TES iceberg (which will take a while to finish because there's like 400 entries) but if you ever want to tackle that one I'd love to share what I have. Anyway: - KOHOLINT WAS REAL: I based this more off the secret ending to LA where if you beat the game with no game overs, the island -doesn't- fade like a dream at the end. This jives pretty well with you observations about BotW too. - HYRULE IS GAY: Nintendo is pretty hands-off about sexual stuff, so the inclusion of a crossdresser AND a more-or-less openly gay carpenter in BotW was pretty surprising. I feel like there may have been other passing references to gay characters before but I can't remember. - LINK'S CROSSBOW TRAINING: It's just funny that we got a Zelda third-person shooter. And that this used to pass for a spin-off, when now we're getting Age of Calamity. One day I want a full remake of TP as a TPS like that one Dead Space spinoff. - POTTY MOUTHED WIZZROBES: I probably shouldn't have included this because it's my personal headcanon / observation. I've always thought that the sound Wizzrobes make in Windwaker when you damage (but don't kill) them sounds like they're shouting, "FUCK!" - ZORA TITS: Yeah, this is just an open-ended question of, "Why do non-mamalian fish people need tits?" so you nailed it. - GORON BUTT BABIES: You were on the money with this one too. Where do Goron babies like the one in MM come from if there are no women? You could say they're a genderless race, but then why do they use gendered terms like, "Brother?" I have a feeling that one day we'll see a female Goron which will make this much more complicated. - LINK IS A BOOBS GUY: As opposed to an ass man (or footfool). This actually refers to two specific instances. The first is in MM where Cremia hugs Link and buries his face in her gazungas and he says he feels "warm and fuzzy." The other is in TP, there's a cutscene where Telma the busty barkeep speaks to Link and he very briefly but clearly sneaks a peek at her cleavage. - FAIRY TITS: This was actually referring to the Great Fairy in TP, whose design is shocking sexual for the typically conservative Nintendo. Given Link's feelings towards boobs described above, it's amazing he didn't lose his mind at the sight of a fully topless fairy. - MALON WON: People theorize that TP Link must be a descendant of Malon because A) He's a rancher and B) He knows Epona's song (via the whistle) from the start of the game - PAWNING THE DEKU PRINCESS: The Versus Books strategy guide for Majora's Mask was full of great dry humor, and at one point the author suggests selling the Deku Princess at the pawn shop. I had a serious Mandela Effect memory where I thought this was actually possible but as you showed, it isn't... or is it? - FOREST TEMPLE NEW MUSIC: EH-REH

I feel like that Flood game COULD have a happy, if not bittersweet ending! Though he is unable to defeat Ganon and prevent a flood, he is able to help people prepare and evacuate so that the total annihilation of all life is avoided. Though he at first intends to defeat all evil and save everything, he eventually realizes that he must accept his limits and who he really is, and find his own way to help people as best as he can. He may not be able to wield a legendary sword, but he doesn't need it. Because of the reputation built up throughout the game as this imitator helps all the townspeople in their various quests, these people flock to his guidance and are able to escape. As a result, every single person in Windwaker indirectly owes their life to this false hero, for he helped save their ancestors from what seemed like inevitable destruction. Maybe you couldn't save everything, but you can still rebuild and look to the future.

Another factor could also have this false hero and his outfit throughout the game. If you have the green clothes slowly turn brown, giving him a commoner look, and be clearly shown to the player as an imitator. People cling to anything in desperate times, so they would follow this boy in raggedy clothing up mountains. I like the morbidity of the first suggestion, so while he may help everyone, he can't see his own limits, creating a false sense of ego and confidence(as well as false courage) that ultimately leads to his demise. He can shoot an arrow at Gandorf but he can't withstand the sudden grasp of someone twice his size and better wits. In the end, this unnamed boy is dead, but many townspeople are saved. So, maybe he was a hero, just not Link

At least one thing that was impactful by fighting ganon even though you fail. Sort of like a sacrifice to weaken ganon, or something though the problem is story wise I think the flood does about everything it needs to. Someone with enough courage to go on a false heroes quest has to do something or the game would feel less like a twist and more like a waste.

I'm going to point to three displays of Power in that game, which are seemingly absent in Wind Waker. First, Ganondorf in both games are shown/stated to have powerful monsters under their command. However, his monsters in Ocarina are actively pushing forth darkness further across Hyrule, at least in the cases of his Phantom, Volvagia, and Morpha, bringing ruin to their respective parts of Hyrule before the Hero of Time beats back the beasts. In Wind Waker, his monsters are taking more defensive positions, like Helmaroc King and the Temple bosses, trying to keep the Hero of Winds from gaining enough strength to kill him before the King of Evil can gather enough of his own strength. Which ultimately ends in the favor of light. Speaking of, Ganondorf's fate for second. Ocarina, he's sealed away in the Sacred Realm, and eventually escapes. Wind Waker, he *dies.* The Master Sword, which only sealed him away before, now finally finishes the job. Same sword, but a different outcome? (Mind, in both instances, the Sword hits its peak of ability.) Third... Ganon. After the corrupted Hyrule Castle (now Ganon's Tower) fails to kill the Hero of Time, Ganondorf makes a last ditch effort to win the fight, and unleashes a horrifying demon form. Wind Waker? This final form is nowhere to be seen, Ganondorf is killed before Ganon can make a comeback. Case in point, Wind Waker Ganondorf isn't as powerful or immediately dangerous as he was in Ocarina. Valley of the Flood could serve to explain this harsh cut in reborn evil's potential.

And even after the technological possibilities of the N64 have been breached the transformation between Zelda and Sheik was always some shiny magic thing. All things considered it is really not plausible to think it is just a disguise. Even the trophy descriptions of Sheik in the Smash Bros. have been a bit ambigous on their gender. I think after some time they just went along with them being female considering the change in the body form over the years.

Okay I know this is completely off topic, but the clip you used for Holy Moly, was my wood shop teacher in high school. The video was taken my junior or senior year (2014/2015) in response to 2 girls showing him kpop/jpop. Links crossbow training actually holds a special place in my heart. Its one of the few games I can associate with my father, and the rest are also zelda-related. Dude I had to replay it 5 or 6 times, I was sitting right next to my window with the blinds down at night, shit had me thinking someone was outside my room. Especially cause it was directed into my right ear and the window was to my right.

42:00 Slight issue, as technically Wind Waker establishes that the legendary hero has little to do with any actual bloodline. What I see as more likely is that the faker eventually gains the ability of the hero and goes on to defeat Ganon, and that Wind Waker is just the “Ganon defeats link” of this timeline.

I don't think I mentioned any implications of a bloodline, unless I don't remember. Link beats Ganondorf in wind waker and that same ganondorf is the one that was flooded with all of hyrule so I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say

@@Sunflower41XD That it would be entirely possible for this false link to become in possession of the triforce of courage. Maybe the skill he gains through his adventure makes him worthy, or he spends the game actively trying to find the triforce before Ganon, but Ganon comes into possession of the triforce of power anyways. Edit: or he only comes into possession with a piece of the triforce of courage (as its known that the ToC is broken into pieces in Wind Waker) and has the power to delay Ganon, but isn’t capable of killing him, allowing him to gain power in the future and succeed the second time around. This would give reason for why both the triforce of courage and triforce of wisdom are broken.
