Hello. I somewhat have to agree with you on this. However, even though they’re waiting, they will not get deported, and they can legally stay here. Additionally, if there are other grounds that they may qualify, they can apply and go forward with those petitions, even though they’re still waiting for the U.

I have submitted my documents on may 2017 and still haven’t heard from them except couple times when they asked for fingerprints and a passport size photos… Do you think I’m going to have to wait long? Thank you!!

Hello. Of course depends what petition you’re filing, but if you’ve avoided an extraordinarily long time, which it appears you have, you might be forced to file a writ of mandate against immigration to force them to make the decision.

Hello. That is a true statement. It is unfortunate that there are so many people who are victims of crime that have applied for the visa, but do keep in mind that there are other options they may pursue while waiting.

@brianlerner1 I got bonafide EAD under U-VISA. Does it mean that I have a hope to get an U-VISA approval? I have been maintaining F-1. It’s really hard to maintain F-1 due to high cost. Can I stop going to college now while my u-visa decision is pending? Thnx in adv.
