Margie Rhein I couldn't agree more ! I remember when I came home from Viet Nam.....many people looked at me as if I was some kind of monster! After parts of four different years of service there ...... it didn't feel very good.....today ... every chance I get I thank every civil servant for their service to our country !

Soldier 4 Christ I respect all my fellow service members for their sacrifices. That said, I have to give the sailors hell for their "deployments". Terms like 'blue nose' and the rationalizations about back to back deployments and such - in the Army it's just "Iraq" or "Afghanistan" or simply "deployment" and we all understand that means 12 months in the actual hostile country and not eating surf and turf and shining brass on a big ship for half that time.

King of the Wicker People, I agree! In the UK, my brother joined the navy and it was the making of him. Although he wasn't the most competitive sailor and had to sit his exams twice, he served for 22 years and I can't express how proud I am.
