I think you can send in some vabs before your planes. It can decrease some damage done to your planes.

how to upgrade troops in this game ? and how to get airplane or submarine ?

You can't upgradee units, if you lose the smaller ones you can build better ones... but you need more military points for that. You need an island base for submarines and you can build airplanes on an airplane base.
