Thanks for speaking out and putting country over party. My father served in both WWII and Korea and lost his life as a result of wounds he received in Korea. Donald Trump called my dad a "sucker" and a "looser". My father was the bravest man I've ever known and to call men and women who gave their lives in service to this country "suckers" and "loosers" was just beyond anything I could or would tolerate from a "Commander and Chief". You're completely right, Donald Trump doesn't have the character or integrity needed to serve as president and you're also right that he is a threat to our democracy. Joe Biden, on the other hand, does have the necessary character and integrity to serve as president and poses no threat to democracy (and will, in fact, defend democracy). Even if you don't agree with all of Biden's policies, it's more important to save our democracy and prevent a man like Donald Trump from being able to seek "retribution" on his "enemies" (we're all Americans, conservatives and progressives may not agree on everything, but we shouldn't be "enemies" and we should be able to work together for the good of the country and her people; and not allow petty political posturing to prevent helping American citizens). I will not vote for my Republican Representative in 2024 because his votes pose a threat to me. For example, he voted to cut Social Security by trillions of dollars and completely do away with Medicare. At age 68, that would is a threat to me. He voted to allow this country to default on its debts. Every economist that I heard talk about that said it would be catastrophic for our economy and people could and would lose their life savings. I'm 68. I'm too old to "start over". I can't afford to loose my life savings. He endangered my life savings. Therefore, I will vote for his democratic challenger. He's given me no other option.
