Just my take. I agree about the freedom of choice. We also talk a lot about equality. So why do only women get the choice of staying home? Why stay at home men are still looked down upon? We need to come to a level of equality where chores are not optional for men and work is not optional for women. Then they will be free to choose from their liking and life goals.

Thats because Jaya didn’t get much offers after her marriage which is why she didn’t have to “sacrifice”. If she did get offers I’m sure she would have accepted it..lets be honest. There were actress like Hema Malini who’s stardom was much more stronger than Jaya’s and Hema’s fan following was massive and same level as Amitabh which led Hema to get offers even after Hema’s marriage which is why she was still working even after giving birth. Its okey to admit at that time and period married women were not given much opportunity and “self sacrificed” wife and mother were given much respect because thats what it was expected of them.
