Wow, Naydene, much respect to you. What a moving poem. So true! It reminds me of Deuteronomy 28.....but that does not help heal your pain, not your family's pain. I feel for you and want you to know that you and your people are descendents of Abraham through Jacob....you are from the Tribe of Reuben, 1st born son. Blessings and one day soon your people will be the head and not the tail as Deuteronomy 28 says.
