The singers voice was a unique raspy voice similar in tone to Axl Rose,I feel like Axl likely was influenced from Nazareth Also the Bassist is owning this unique and totally rocking rendition of one timeless folk ballad Solid drumming and guitar work Solid
Axl Rose is a huge fan of Dan. Appetite for destruction was ment to be produced by Manny Charlton. He pre produced it but it was to time consuming, and he had to leave and go touring with Nazareth.
@@steffenrocks1 yea I knew gnr covered Nazareth but I knew from axls singing style lol thanks for sharing that I can't imagine appetite being produced by anyone else it is perfect
Original Song by Country Folk Singer Bonnie Dobson as also played by Grateful Dead as by Jeff Beck with Rod Stewart on Vocals this version by Nazareth will always be my fav version.r.i.p.Dan
can you believe i saw Nazareth for 5 bucks at Fagan's in the Flats downtown Cleveland...plus met all 4 of them and autographs to boot!...great guys...wish Dan the best health...hope he is well...
@@grendel_nz the kick acceleration at 4'09 has something wrong to me, kind of too speed and not so groovy like horses running wild in the 70's cover... So sad to know Mr McCafferty passed away
I didn't know that Nazareth covered Morning Dew. Duane Allman did a great cover of it too. But I give the Grateful Dead credit for doing my favorite version. Didn't even know Nazareth was active past 1980. I saw them two or three times, the first was back in 1973 in northern Virginia, at roller-skating rink opening for BOC. Good times gone too soon. Peace.
They’ve got a huge tour coming up, apparently world wide. I’d really love to hear the ORIGINAL NAZ SONGS played DANS way. Let MR CARL sing his songs in his style.
Oh yeah Pete Agnew could play bass I met this guy one time at a small bar in moncton n b it was a huge snowstorm that thought it would be cancelled but it wasn't I drove to get there I had tickets it was during the middle of the week I had to go to work the next day there were only like 25 people there because of winter storm I rocked and partied hard I didn't care the next day was rough who cares
Nazareth is the largest Palestinian Arab city inside Israel and one of the holiest Christian cities on earth. In the New Testament the town is described as the childhood home of Jesus and as such is a center of Christian shrines and pilgrimage, with many shrines commemorating biblical events. All praises to Jesus of Nazareth!
What is the significance of the flag? Regardless, this is the most haunting song ever. It mesmerizes me. Was it about the US Civil War as I have heard?
I was in Germany in the army and seen them play at an outside concert smoking a lot of hash that was 50 years ago such a great time I was only about 20 Rick
Original is PETE, the bass player. Lee on drums is Pete’s kid . He took over after DARRELL passed from heart attack. Jimmie took over a few years after MANNY left !
