I discuss what I think about made up moves in 2k games, the cheesy timeout strategy of the CPU, up and unders, spin layups, court spacing, and the CPU advantage.
@Tamir Hall wilt Chamberlain is a Famous Center in the NBA, and he scored 100 points in a single game and holds the most points in a single game record. your welcome, and stay safe.
I'd like to see a part two because I agree with just about everything you said in this one. Hopefully 2K listens to their most watched player... Hopefully.
You Think this is not REALISTIC see what its like NBA 2K12 on Playstation 2 every time you shoot the ball and you try to block it they call it a foul immediately and you can dunk almost from the 3 point line they think NBA 2k12 is NBA Jam. I wish I had NBA 2k12 on Ps3 or X-Box 360
I just went thru all of your 2k videos and they are addicting man. Oh, and you convinced me not to even bother buying 2k12 so, thank you for that. I hope these concerns are at least looked at for 2k13. All in all, keep making videos boss.
i think your right. The only time i see the mega hop shot is from dirk i saw him do it once and thats it so your right. Also the up and under is only used by the scrubby centers who cant man their way through, but overall great video
I still love 2K12, but there are still some MAJOR things they need to fix. For example, My Player has 99 Ball Security and he still drops it sometimes when another player steps in front of him.
As soon as i heard the music, i knew that it was a smoove to smoove moment! You gotta love it!! And also, you should make a part 2! These videos are awesome,
I think the best way to improve my player is to allow you to start your player as good as you want him to start. Its your game If you want to start with your stats in the 80's you should be able to
Something also unrealistic is the Draft... I, for example, had 23 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 steals, 1 turnover and 1 block... I ended up the 14th pick. Nick Brown, for example, went 0 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 0 steals, 2 turnovers and 0 blocks... he ended up 5th
Please do make a part 2, totally agreeing with everything you just pointed out, sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my time with this game, I love the franchise, but every year they bring something in that ruins logic and crashes the game, absolutely ridiculous.
Most of what he said is so true. Anyone who has ever played organized basketball knows that when you get a defense scrambling, driving to the rim is unbelievably easier. And even if they do mange to stop you, there would then be 1 or 2 people wide open on the perimeter. But in 2K, you give the pump fake to draw them out, they come, but when you go to blow right past them, they just shut you down with ease. He is also right about how defense is like trying to guard Iverson with Shaq.
There's an option where you can choose the offensive pressure, defensive pressure, offensive tempo, and the defensive tempo without changing the difficulty of the game.
great vid, def do more because there's so many things wrong with this game and I'm tired of them touting that it's game of the year etc. just one suggestion: Have your videos show the problems!
what i hate most about 2K12 is the momentum. Its so hard to blow out the CPU because they'll always find a way to comeback. Even if you play perfect defense for 24 seconds, they'll cheat for an offensive rebound and an easy putback. CPU or the AI is seriously cheating in this game and its frustrating.
From what I have played of 2k12 I think that the court is crowded. There is no space but not only that I really think that if your attacking you seem to run slower than the defenders regardless of quickness or speed. A fast break between Russell Westbrook and Andrew Bynum and Bynum was faster. Not sure if they got that right
I agree about what u said when ur open and then they contest ur shot but if u try and drive right after that they won't let u past. And please make a part 2 I think 2k11 was a better game overall and they need to bring back stuff to do online with ur my players. U should be able to play 21 with ur my player wit ur friends or a 1 on 1 that would be amazing!
@mattroom For example, take JJ Redick and Caron Butler. In a three-point shooting contest, not many can beat him. However, his short wingspan makes his shot easy to contest. Orlando's offense, D12, and a quick release help out, but, in a vacuum, his shot is more likely to be contested than one by say...Butler. Tuff Juice has a 7'0" and Synergy lists him as a great shooter under pressure. While not as good of a shooter, his wingspan allows him to get his shot off comfortably.
the worst thing about this game is when your guarding the man it tells you to guard, and right before someone scores, it changes the person your guarding to the person about to score and it says allow man to score
Or the fact that the CPU almost always seem to land those Hail Mary passes down court on your defense no matter what you do. They'll throw a pass from the foul line to the opposite foul line with ease
I hate how when you don't have the ball and you're moving around for a play there's always like three animations where you try to push through the defender instead of just running around him.
Only thing i disagree with is the whole speed thing with the defenders. Naturally the offensive player is gonna be faster than the defensive player because he knows which direction he wants to go in.
I wish 2k would just watch these videos...he's spot on with all the problems. I have the exact same problems as he does. None of my teammates ever the 3 pointers, because they're never open.
actually that hop step is 2K Sports signature move. They never seem to really change anything about their games. If you were to play back-to-back 2K10 thru 2K12, besides the graphical changes they have not evolved from each other. Yes, the court needs to be slightly bigger, and the stadium crowd also needs to improve. Granted that it is not Stadium 2K12, but they do effect the way you play. As soon as you pick up the small things you lose interest in the bigger picture.
My main problem....how come 2k doesn't have a feel for shooters mentality. There's a rule on the court: too much space, and it's drained. Today, i had the worst time in My Player mode getting anything to fall because i kept getting B- C+ shot selections....but if it were on a real NBA court, that shot would have been butter
Kobe is probably the only NBA player who uses that fake-pivot-up and under combination from midrange. I've never seen anyone else do that. It's puzzling that Ryan Gomes for instance would do that.
Around a year ago i only liked when smoove put up cod videos i hated nba 2k then i watched one and now i like his 2k vids better then cod keep it coming smoove BTW(i dont even have nba 2k)
Another problem in 2k12 is when you throw an alley-oop and he doesn't finish and just cathes the ball with a jump, and then lays it up or dunks it you don't get an assist. Another problem is way to many blocks I take about two layups/dunks a game just because of all the blocks or just cheese em and spin layup or up and under layup...
i don´t say i´m happy that 2k12 isn´t that good as we all hoped but i´m really excited fo 2k13 becuz damn they know now what they did wrong and if they fix all that and put sth new in 2k13.. perfect.
Hi Smoove , i'm a 2K12 player from Switzerland and I wanted to tell you that your version of 2k12 is different.we don't have the same game. the opponents are easy to dribble and we don't have any bug
Court spacing, an end to put-back dunks, if the CPU falls for a pump fake they shouldn't be back in the play a second later, a bigger difference between good players and bad players, smarter CPU boxing out (sometimes they box me out when i'm closer to the half way line than 3 point), player momentum should affect turning and acceleration should actually mean something, defenders shouldn't run faster than passes and the CPU needs to learn how to manage the clock
I mean, I know part of it is on me for just not taking the time to get better. But that was the nice thing about the games before. You didn't have to master the controls just to win a game.
i been a nba live dude since like 01'... 2k has always had a better basketball experience...but the game flow of nba live is way smoooooover .... and 2k never had live challenges. nba live made me 5 grand richer.... id like to see A MORE competitive atmosphere out of NBA 2K.
I agree whole heartily 2K stepped up the My Player mode but lagged in player performance. My point being the way players play in real life should cross over to the game.
It's like the CPU has hidden rating boosts in My Player this year. There were some hints of discrepancies in my player for 2K11 but it's absurd this time around. I'm constantly getting chased down on fast breaks and my spped & quickness are both 99. When it's my turn to chase someone for a fast break there's something separating us, and I can't catch up. The cpu can loft any pass wherever they please due to the patched trajectory but I still get turnovers off of simple passes. It's disappointing
I Finally figured it out. it took awhile but they based ALL the moves off of Kobe Bryant. All the pump fakes, pivots, up and under moves? All things that Kobe Bryant does...they basically gave ALL players Kobe Bryant tendencies. ignoring the rest of the tendencies except when they shoot, where to shoot and "On ball steal" . I hate it .
i feel the amount of cheese gets worse with shorter quarters. 8-12 minute quarters, the cpu actually misses baskets. 5 minute quarters, its like 48 minutes of cheese compressed into a 20 minute game
only legit problem would probably be court spacing. the "made up" moves aren't actually made up by 2k in a real b-ball game, momentum does play a huge role on who wins CPU advantage is why HOF is HOF
Good word bro.. I just played the game for the first time and spent a few minutes in the practice mode, then played online. This game is so flippin stupid! I don't think I want to lower myself to this games frame of mind. You can obviously tell that what's been added to nba2k12 was by guys that don't know anything about the game of basketball. They literally set up traps in this game that work against the basic knowlege of the basketball. It's sad because I was looking forward to this years gm
Chris, you are awesome. Youre my guy...i love you ! make vids of my player of every single game...at the begining till the end! sorry for my bad english ! but like everybody to see this !
@MrNothingButAir Basketball in real life and in games is about keeping your cool. The better you control your offense and not panic shooting, the better you'll do. Turst me. My 2k rank is Superstar 1 w/o even playing much.
Its near impossible to beat the CPU on ALL STAR! I played Superstar/Hall Of Fame in 2k11 and had some good games, but on All-Star it is ridiculous in 2k12. Also, the CPU reacts to your passes immediately after you hit pass, it is almost like you are controlling the pass for your team and the steal for the opponent. Not to mention that they have eyes in the back of their heads...
1. My PG is in the playoffs, conference finals, i play for the Mavs, Brandon Bass does that cheesy BIG hop step fadeaway every damn possession i give it to him.. he never gets the ball
Crossovers don't work (unless against user). You can't pump fake and attack when a player closes out on you (unless against user). Can't blow by big men with player such as CP3 (unless against user). And what you said!
