The Heat said they weren't going to rely on Oden and they were going to let him move at his own pace. If he comes in just a few minutes a game to start off, I think he'll be a solid addition.
As a man from Portland I only have a few words to say. "He's someone else's problem! Finally!" That made me feel better... Still kinda bumbed we missed out on KD... :(
As a Blazer fans I've been pulling for Oden since we drafted him. I still am, but like everyone else I don't think he can stay healthy if he plays a lot of minutes. If he doesn't get hurt all season then he Miami will sweep through the playoffs. He is that good. I've seen it. He shuts down the paint, you can't move this guy. He changes shots and he has amazing hands. Healthy Oden would make a difference even if he can't jump.
I hope his knees hold out. The Heat don't need him to be the 20/10 guy that everyone thought he could be when he was drafted, they just need him to take up space, block shots and grab rebounds. He won't get much playing time but he will definitely give the Heat a presence down low.
Well, he's choosing to try to reestablish himself in the League, and he could have chosen to go to another team where expectations aren't as high but he decided to do it in Miami, where probably the most watched team in the League right now plays, means he's going to have to commit to keeping himself healthy otherwise it's going to be in the national media. Mad respect to him for taking that challenge.
I still watch that video where you threw like 6 or 7 lobs up at the end of the game after shutting Steve Kerr down. Shits fucking hilarious it gets me every time.
Coming from a Sixers fan he's right man. Wade struggled in the post-season due to his knee injury that he is going to heal all off-season and should come back 100%. Bosh isn't declining his numbers are just lowered because of Lebron and Wade's performances. They also have the best player in the league who can do it all. Mario can shoot from downtown and he's young. Battier can shoot as well. If Oden lives up to the hype and doesn't get injured you have a good inside presence that can compete...
Oden is going step-by-step to improve his game again and probably would play ~15-20 minutes in regular if healthy. He sure has talent and I think he's going to play BIG minutes in playoff (ofc when he is healthy and having amazing form). Miami Heat has weakness: size/big men. It's now or never for Oden. He's giving last shot in his NBA career and he knows it as well. Expectations are high and people should support him! :)
Yeah, I know. I completely agree with what you're proving. I like Rondo since they won the playoffs against the Lakers. Being a Rondo fan, doesn't mean I'm a fan of the Celts. Admiring a specific player is different from admiring the whole team.
It seems the trend in the NBA nowadays is to gamble on injured and/or old players. But seriously, if Oden stays healthy, he can he can provide so much for the heat, especially for the amount of money his contract is worth.
Smoove said he's not opening any more packs, likes his team as it is. No weaknesses and I'd agree, his team is dope. It's gonna be sick when he's runnin' MJ next to Iverson though...
As Celtics fan, I must agree on Rondo being best PG in the league, but I won't agree that no Heat fan would say Cole/Chalmers are best. They would, because they are mostly bandwagoners and have no clue about basketball. Another thing is that Rondo sincerely hates Miami Heat, he recently said that he'll never play for the Heat, that's why I was a little bit suprised seeing him as your avatar. Btw. nice to see that there are Heat fans that know something about basketball, like you. Peace out!
Keep doing your thing, Rajon. I understand that you can do only do so much especially coming off an ACL. I mean you could be like Adrian Peterson and come back breaking all kinds of record or could be like Derrick Rose and needing some extra time to really make sure the explosive movement is back. Only you know your knee better than any doctor or therapist so just come back whenever you are ready since there is no reason to throw away your career at the expense of one season.
Dude, if Oden wasn't injured, he would probably be one of the best centers in the game. He's quick and agile for his size, and he can rebound and crush the paint. This is coming from a lakers fan
I m in the 2nd seed as well, and I've got 3 cheese wins. The opposing team had ONLY bronze players and I won all three games by an average of 35pts! So weird to see those teams up there, but I m not complaining haha
I think Oden might get a small injury early on that he can play through most of the season, but at about 60-80 games in gonna get another serious injury and be out for most of or all the rest of the season and playoffs
Smoove next time your up by 10+ try pressing down on both the analog sticks in the fourth quarter when theres ten seconds to go. One of the players will throw gatorade at the coach
Hibbert had his career bests against the Heat. Lopez struggled but it had a lot to do with floor spacing issues. Now that he has Garnett the lane doesn't clog and he has a viable option from midrange. Garnett and Pierce also posted their bests against the Heat. That and Allen is a year older, Battier is a year older, Bosh is as inconsistent as ever and Wade looks done. The "east" in general has adjusted to the Heat. There will be no three-peat, it happens to all dynasties after time.
He considered the Pelicans because they have a young talented core that he could have grown with. (Holiday, Gordon, Evans, Anderson, The Brow). There's just no pressure to play in Miami with LeBron James. Plus, they like to space the floor so Bosh will still start at the 5.
Remember, the heat never really had a big man that would be a threat to score in the post consistently so they basically put LeBron in the post and waited for the double team, leaving shooters wide open. That's the kind of basketball that won them two championships. If oden can give the heat valuable minutes, then they will most likely have to stray away from the strategy that won then two rings. It is gusty in a way...
If and only if Greg Oden stays healthy he will be able to 5-8 more years in the NBA he is only 25! That is a good sign if he can stay healthy. If he doesn't have any more major injuries he could play 5-8 more years at a starter level in the NBA. I hope he does well.
Wade avg'd 20 on 47% in the finals including that 30 point performance in game 4. James Jones will take Miller's spot in the rotation. The gap isn't as wide as it was last year, but the Heat are still the favorites.
I would say Duncan, KG, Gasol, Gasol, and Randolph. The league isn't cluttered with them, but the few that we have now are decent enough. Also Greg Monroe is looking good, I hope he can develop a good post game.
I think that Greg Oden out of the league for 3 and a half years is gonna need about a year to get back into NBA shape and if he isn't playing many minutes then it wouldn't happen this year. Considering that Battier and Allen are older and Wade looks done, they'd require Oden to contribute a lil more than normally which he cannot do after 3 and a half years out of the league. At the moment Hibbert and Lopez would destroy him. Heat need one full healthy year to develop him,not enough time imo.
Pacers also added perimeter scoring and deepening their bench by getting Scola and Copeland. Not to mention they'll be getting Danny granger back as well. And Garnett and Pierce are past their primes but they had their best games against the Heat. Why? Because they took advantage of the Heat's overrotating defense, they know how to exploit it and did. Add that to the Nets and the Heat have problems.
He will be good. Keep in mind mike miller was very injured after the first ring, and they hardly played him in the season to let him rest for late in the playoffs. This will be greg oden, but even less minutes than MM.
I feel Oden plays until March, and everyone becomes optimistic. Then it turns around and he reinjures his knees. And just because they have a healthy Greg Oden they will immediately win? No, he won't be giving them enough minutes to say that, imo. The Pacers got significantly better.
Was a good signing imo. Low risk high reward. Dude could be a beast if he can stay on the court. Unlikely but possible. If I'm Heat I play him 10-12 minutes until the postseason so he's healthy for the playoffs.
I dont think smoove will see this but really you are a geinus and the people complaining about your team dont know how smart you are. You are a geinus at putting the perfect players together smoove
yeahh greg oden was one of the best center in the league and its somebody remember chis smoove in 2k10 in playoffs when below appears the other team star player oden was averaging 44 points per game and 17 rebounds
Come on cuh, what did you want him to do? This is the ONLY video out of his 986 videos where I have heard him actually say the fact that he is good at 2k. Smoove move.
Pretty sure cheesing would be doing it every time down. He does a post shimmy once a game, and that makes him a cheeser? Lol. He's also stated, at one point I recall, that the reason he only shows the shimmy is because they're the only post shots that go in. He's said that he does do up and under hooks and all types of post moves but they usually don't drop.
Challenge! Smoove, change your starting lineups before every game. Change 3 or 2 players every time you play! Like so he can see this :) And I think he gets injured.
I. Hope Greg oden doesn't get injured. He is such a great player. I've been telling everyone the heat was gonna 3peat and I'm not even a heat fan but oden will help a lot with the 3peat
I like the deal they gave oden it's a low risk high reward deal like Bynum got with the cavs. If he can't play it won't really matter cause they still have the same team they did last year minus miller and they didnt give oden a big contract so if it doesn't work out the heat can just cut their losses
I'm a life long michigan fan, and the heat are one of my least favorable teams, but I hope he doesn't get injured. The guy is obviously good and injuries shouldn't take him away from doing what he loves. That being said, yeah he probably will get injured. The center is the most physical spot, and a lot of force goes on the knees. Just look at Brandon Roy who was in the same exact spot
Well he's gonna have limited minutes he's not gonna be forced to play heavy minutes so it'll be interesting to see how oden will turn out if his knees can keep up
greg oden is going to be on a game limit i say his going to play 55-65 games max just so they can save him for the playoffs. Coach spo isnt stupid they only got him for the playoffs, not to dominate during the regular season.
If Oden plays well, the only way the Heat can possibly lose is if teams shoot a very high percentage from 3. Like Danny Green good. That's the only way teams can equalize the play, and this is coming from a Knicks fan.
This is Oden's tryout. If he can do well this season and maybe impress some people with his play then the future is him, Wade and Bron because as much as I like Chris Bosh he is just too soft. If Oden can stay healthy he could provide the strong inside presence that the Heat desperately lack.
Love the new away jerseys. I'm a huge nuggets fan and I actually have one of those jerseys from when I was at a game. Thinking about selling it because it is an Iguodala jersey.
Every single time, I watch one of your 2K MyTeam videos, I go ahead and play that mode on my ps3. I have a great team but every single time, it's like my team chokes at the end, and I end up losing. I get wide open 3 pointers, mid shots, and I drive sometimes, and then they just blow the shot/layup/dunk in the 4th quarter. That game robbed me so much, and my VC and it disconnects me from the game sometimes, and then I'm winning, it says the opponent has left, yet, I get a loss for the seed. -__-
look what happened with Brandon Roy's come back, 5 games in he gets hurt and he was done. i hope the best for Greg but i don't think it will work out for him just due to the number and seriousness of his injuries
Smoove, you need to get Larry Johnson at PF, he is one of the best, and most fun player to play with, plus, he does everything that J Smith, just better!
It's so sad to see that since you guys were in the finals with the lakers just three years ago. It is sad to see the celtics disband especially after losing you last season.
