First video I've seen of yours BUT I've been playing 2k for years and have always struggled as a big man playing these fast lil bastards but you literally just changed everything for me. I just tried it out and it's legit af. Amazing tips, very clear and to the point. You made sure to have the caption throughout to make it even easier. This is exactly what I look for in a 2k help video. One helluva job brother. You just got a new sub
But how are you doing this? I cant seem to know what direction my man is going let alone defend home because I move to far ahead of him or don’t keep up with him. What exactly do you do to stay locked on to your man... like speed of trigger taps, pressure on the left stick, how far off to defend, etc.. ?
Used this in the park WHILE watching this vid and instant clamp god with 3 or 4 steals while they were doing cheese dribble moves and screens lol. Where's the LOVE button!!! Subscribed!
Holy shit thank you bro, great video! THIS is exactly what I need to hopefully start getting marginally better. I've started to kinda understand how playing defense works in 2K on my own. But my mind really needed these extra precise tips, like tapping b&f once per step for example. That one small detail is actually going to help me be able to focus on what I should be doing instead of yelling "wtf am I doing wrong" lmao.
This was helpful, I only got one defensive badge and I was constantly getting blown by, while watching this I did a defensive drill and felt the difference, great video
THANK YOU SO MUCH SAM! Being a primarily defensive SG, this is super imperative for me to pick. Definitely getting into the lab to get more efficient at this
Glad to hear it haha i normally train professional 2K players during Feb to August, ao is awesome I can do this for my viewers during these times to help you guys plus also myself to work on my 2k training skills.
Been waiting for this tip, after learning this I tried holding L2 and tapping R2 on each slide and it worked just as good. Also feels a little less hectic. Thanks for the great content, keep em coming!
That actually works okay. But what you will see overtime is you can’t trigger that turnaround sprint recovery and bump steal. Online vs park or pro am players those animations are needed. But if it works well for you stick with it ! Happy to help
Been playin 2k since Dey ranked u individually online and that was 2k8 and I can tell u this method worked then, u jus had 2 be a real gamer 2 figure it out
Been locking shit down as a center to the point where Id face anyone. Decided to make a perimiter lockdown and while its decent im sliding all over the place so this is useful as hell 😎
This year it seems there’s only one necessary gear lol nothing else works well enough. Holding down L2 or R2 for even longer than 2 seconds is a blow by this year.
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial i kno this is unrelated.. but does coaching/training staff rating matter in nba2k21?? If it does, does it matter for actual gameplay or "simulated" games??
@@macanthony1982 if you have a trainer with an A- or better training stat you get 3 off season training camps, anything b+ or lower is only 2 camps. Not sure if their ratings change anything else tho
thanks mate!!. so goood you are around. do you have a short hand cam video to better understand the tapping LT/RT BF and left stick movement? thanks for your great guides i am suffering on shooting probably to old for that aiming stick. tried your mechanism with big failure but maybe one day in 2022...
What I've been doing since 2K16 is holding B whenever I want to switch directions very quickly on defense. It works very well, and it even gets me easy charges because players will run into you a lot. It was also a very strong counter to screens, so I never used Pick Dodger. However, it seems this has been nerfed in 2K21. Whenever I hold B now and let it go, there's a slight delay before you can start moving again.
"With Patch 1.02, target window for shot aiming depends on how quickly you move RS to start a shot. Slow flick = left, fast flick = right. So it's under your control now. You can also use shot aiming with meter off for a small boost." PLEASE HELP US SAM!!!!
Hey Sam Pham, do you try new build for gameplay if so, Im looking for one that’s in the game but idk how to build it. I think you like the analysis on the build
Hey, GREAT VIDEO. YOu should be getting paid for this.!. Question: what’s the yellow/orange arrow image that shows at the bottom of the player you’re guarding. . ? Is that showing the next way they might move and would be an optimal steal time. . ?
I just got back to playing 2k, last was like 17. At this point, you barely have control of your players, I feel like. You trigger a move and then the animation takes over. It's tough to recover. But I'm trying to figure out how it is now, so thanks to your vids. I always loved playing D and controlling every player. Oh, that too, when you switch players on defense, the player gets lost for like a sec, so I feel like it's best to not even switch. What has this game turned into.
I Greatly appreciate your advice and help in this game, if it was not for you, i honestly proably would have stopped playing 2k, with your help i now can see what 2k is doing within this game. However can you Please Post your entire game set up? i mean the settings, sliders and controller settings? thank you again for helping the community it is widely needed. stay safe
I bought this game yesterday, Just taking forever to do every last bit of loading, download was fine, Im starting it a second time today, well anyhow, looks like a cool video, defense first, Im looking to learn other things too. Scoring a 1,000 points with myPlayer in 12 minute quarters on NBA '95 or so with a PC, thought I would be a good player (yes a thousand, you control both teams and inbound the ball to the opponent for dunks and threes) but Im quiet awful, I just hope the game loads, do you have any advice on how not to waste VC or Team points?
So we tap the left and right trigger, but what do I do with the left stick? Do I flick or hold? Do I move the left stick before or after I press the triggers?
