NBA 2K23 How to Finish at the Rim : Best Settings to Green More Layups ! 

I'm so tired of the term "skill gap." I've been playing 2K my whole life and every damn year they change things just enough that you have to relearn and repractice timing and controls. It's old. I don't want to come home from work and "practice" latency ridden meters for a plethora of animations. Not every 2K player desires to be an e-sports level of talent.

What about having layup timing on with shot meter off?

Another good tip is, make sure you’re using pro touch on hall of fame.

I play user timing and it really opens up my game being a shot creator

on current fulls can be late and with layups being easy to contest u should just use jelly scoop layups on game timing since the layup speed varies with contest.

Is it confirmed that you still get the no meter jump shoot boost if you have your meter on pro stick only

Are you guys going to test the make/miss percentage of the slightly early and slightly lates? Very late and very early? If the penalty to mistiming the layup to where youre missing layups you'd make with it on, it's probably not worth it. Especially if youre a big and you get random layups all the time in the paint at all different speeds.

I mean, I like the skill gap but people able to make 55% of red layups is absolutely ridiculous. And they complained about paint defense last year :/

Love the video man it really helped me in MyCareer but going into the REC with Layup timing, Pro Touch Hall Of Fame, Acrobat Gold, Fearless Gold, and Bully Hall of Fame I can't green or hit slightly for the life of me. Every layup seems to be RED Late or Early. Can you test this to see if the mechanic works the same in online modes?

Can you make a video that shows the diffeence between someone who is elite at using the shot layup meter

While I do want to put the meter on, I don't like using a shot meter for my actual jumpers, but I'm forced to if I want the bar for my layups

Seems like these settings throw you into more layups than dunks when using the stick though. With regular settings I feel like I get way more contact dunks.

Tip MJ’s layup is probably the best. Magics I just started using . His euros and cradles are dirty .. omg..🥰. Long athlete sucks I stg. Brons has like 2-3 good animations but is trash.. haven’t tried others Hardens prolly good too. Also I have good bully on But you really need clamp break to take full advantage.. Update Unless you dunk with magics euros ur gonna get blocked so sad Trying Lavine now I used it but not as long as MJ’s to give y’all full confirmation

I use Pro Touch realy good boost.

Extremely annoying that they couldn’t just add a “layups only” option for using the meter. I hate doing layups with my right stick. Very 2k of them to add a nice new feature and over complicate how you have to use it.

Is there a recommended minimum attribute for lay ups to put? Like is a 70 enough or?

Please please go into detail on passing on this 2k. I'm stuck doing overhead passes om drives and kick outs etc

Man I tried most games with it on and in the park/theater the server lag is still not great and makes timing a bit tricky if you’re like me and like to release based on the animation tht happens.

Dude am I the only one who got the update where they took shot timing out this settings? I can’t make my layups nomore cause it’s off and I can’t turn the crap back on, it’s completely gone

Someone help. I don’t know if this is meant to be in the game, but when I release it full bar, perfect timing, wide open, it says late, every single time. It makes it impossible to time, because then I try releasing it earlier on the bar, to get excellent timing, but then if the contest changes then the green part of the bar moves and where the bottom of the green part once was and where I released it is now very early. Is this just a current gen thing? Is it a glitch, or is it a problem with my setup? Has anyone else had this problem? And I only have these problems online, mycareer and shit is great. I release it full bar and it’s green as it should be.

I think 2k changing the default to no layup timing is soooo corny and reflective of the competitive state of the game. Like is having touch and timing around the basket not basketball too…

If there was a option to use the meter on just layups I'd keep layup timing on. The random animations just make it so much harder to get the timing down with no meter. And need the meter off for shooting

To NBA2k - Please fix your sloppy and stiff animations (Here is a list) I've been a loyal fan purchasing every game since 2k11 and I really cant believe the level of disrespect shown to the gameplay as far as simulation and realism to real NBA basketball. Everything I see now our cruise ships and colorful attire. **Instead could you please focus on gameplay that is more like real basketball?** 1. Jump shot animations are stiff and way to fast and look very bad. 2. The **varying ways** the **ball** can go into the **hoop** are very limited and have **repeated animations.** 3. The *AI ( computer )* are taking horrible *shots* and constantly doing fadeaways in the post. Especially centers who would never play like this. 4. Please chance the *net/swish* sounds as they sound plasticky and hollow compared to the wet sound you get from a real swish. I've noticed this has been the same sound since 2k18. Now I don't mean to sound harsh but it comes from the love of the game and I only want to enjoy a realistic experience that I have yet to feel since 2k16. I know the developers can do better. Please make some changes I beg of you. From a true Basketball fanatic. P.S - The on court player chatter has been the exact same for almost 7 years now. Can you not get some regular people to record a few different lines for next to nothing to finally change things up? ***I saw this comment and I absolutely agree, mainly I'd like 2k to make the swish animations and sounds better, to make this game more satisfying to play long term.*** Not hating on 2k, love the game! would love to see these things improved.
